SEHYOON'S POV
The only sound in my office is the one of me typing on my computer....and the sound of Chan quietly singing to an old ballad song. I find myself listening to his voice that's surprisingly really pretty.
"I believe..." I say turning his way breaking the calming atmosphere and he smiles as brightly as always towards me.
"You know that song?" He asks and I nod
"Is from the movie ost My Sassy Girl, is one of my favorites" I do prefer actions films or super hero movies, but at times I catch myself watching dramas when they're recommended by a friend or by Twitter.
"Mine too...and Shin Seung Hun is one of my favorite singers" and I smile his way
"You have good taste" and we both go back to our tasks as he continues singing the same song, I try typing slower so this sound doesn't interfere with his voice.
Just then my eyes fall to the right corner of the computer screen, and see that is way pass our lunch hour
"Hey Chan", I say and his eyes look up once again, "you can go out to eat now, take the full hour..." and he stays in his seat.
"What about you?" He asks and I am a bit hungry but I must hurry with this closure for my case tomorrow morning
"I think I'll skip lunch today. You go ahead" I motion my hand to indicate him to get out of the office, I don't want to overwork the kid. He arranges the papers in the center of the table and starts to make his way out of the door. I move my eyes back to the screen and Chan just stays there by the door frame. "Yees, Chan?" I say and he turns to look at me
"Want to go grab lunch with me?" He asks, this will be the first time I see him hesitate a little, is he nervous?, not even on the interview where I was in the panel along the C.E.O.
"I think I rather hurry up with this paperwork" I say and turn back on the screen. His eyes lowers to the floor then just smiles uncomfortably
"Ok hyung...see you" and he leaves my office
I move over to the desk with his paperwork and look through the papers, and up to the last page there had being highlighted.
So he already finish revising these?
I look at the tablet sitting on the table. The last update was from an hour ago.
"With this last paragraph. Sehyoon can conclude the case by adding facts and views from the Chul case from 2003".
I read through and indeed he did finished an hour ago.
"Why didn't he just let me know so he could continue with his studies" and I scratch my head. I turn off the screen of the tablet and set the paperwork back on place as he left them.
Just then I realise that maybe he was waiting for me to go eat together??
Naaaahhh....
But he did invited me..
I grab my jacket and grab my car keys and close my office as I step out to look for this kid
"Hey Shownu, have you seen Yuchan?" I ask a colleague printing something in the hallway. He looks a bit confuse as to who I am talking about, "the intern from Jeju. The loud kid in the office" I say and he snaps his fingers
"Oh him...wait why, I like him so if you're looking for him to nag my lips are seal" he says and gives me a cold stare before turning to continue his business with the multifunctional
"No...I promised him to eat lunch with him today" I lie but is enough to make Shownu tell me he saw Chan walk towards the elevator
I just make my way to the first floor and see a confuse Chan staring at the sky. I move to stand by his side. He's really tall almost my height.
"You lost something?" I ask and he shakes his head
"It looks like it might rain" he adds and once he sees me standing there he looks a bit confuse
"Hey....um I am actually hungry, want to go eat something with me?" I ask hoping that I won't get turn down. Is like he's thinking something but then just replies
"Sure...let's.!!" With his usual bright smile, "do you like thai food?" He asks taking out his cellphone
"Sure, sounds good...let's go" I say and start walking towards my car. He just follows me. I take a peek at the sky and see that gray clouds are already forming in the sky. I unlock the doors and he takes a seat on the back, "hey...don't be like that seat at the front...this ain't not taxi" he seems to realise that he automatically took the back seat, and proceeds to move to the front.
The drive to the place Chan recommended is quiet. He doesn't speak much that is so rare given the fact that this kid never seems to be quiet in the office
"Is something wrong?" My voice again breaks the silence, he snaps from his day dream
"No, just nervous..." he says then makes a face as if someone has step on his foot ( 😲 ) , "no I mean...because this is the first time we spend time alone..." and he starts to scratch his forehead
What's with him?
"Oh right...well what about if you start to think of me as a friend?" I smile to him and he seems happier now
"Can I call you hyung?" He asks
"Sure or Yoon...is fine, you seem to get along with everyone but with me you're always...like avoiding me" I speak my truth. He always greets me politely or makes a random comment like that morning saying that smoking is bad for me. And then walks away quickly.
"No no....is just that..." he seems to think a lot of his reply
"Yes..." just then I reach my final destination and park the car
"Nothing...but now that we're friends I'll talk to you a lot more now...and you can't complain you were the one to propose it" he says now laughing
"Will I regret it now?" I joke and he makes a pout with his mouth. Cute.
"Meanie" and we get off the car to enter the restaurant.
