The One Winged Crow

Slight Flight Mishap and Vaizel at last

I looked at Audine who was trying to calm Crow down, who had gone into shock because of the switch, while I simply watched them, having forgotten about my existence as per usual when it came to having conversations like this. I instead decided to turn my attention away from Audine and Crows conversation to my new wings and pointed ears, all of this was so strange, just yesterday I was a human and now I'm a fairy.

I looked at the light, see-through wings moving up and down out of my free will since I had no idea how to control them, the wings were large and light but at the same time felt tight on my back, might be because I wasn't born with wings and this was normal for Crow. Speaking of Crow, I turned my attention back to the two oblivious Lovebirds, Audine seemed to have calmed Crow down and they were now talking about something in hushed voices. I felt a little upset that they didn't acknowledge my existence much, but then again I am still a bit new to the group and thus they still didn't trust me, well Crow didn't trust me while Audine trusted me more and I didn't know much about the two background wise. I do have to wonder about something though like, where did she come from?

I had a good idea on where Crow had come from because of the past lessons with my tutor, But I had never known about Audines species at all before I met her, maybe her species was extremely rare so that's why no one knew about them, but then where was their homeland?

Everything in the world needed a point of origin so where did Audine come from and were there others?

As far as I knew appearance wise Audine was a Wolf and what I had been told about wolves other than them being nuisances that steal our livestock, that wolves are also social animals and always travel together in packs or in pairs they are never truly alone, so where was Audines pack and were th-

My thoughts were halted when I noticed that for some reason they were getting shorter, confused I looked down and to my shock saw I was two feet off of the ground, I looked behind at my wings to see them both moving together in a somewhat perfect synchronization and what made this so bad was that I had zero control over my new wings. I saw Crow and Audine were still talking and hadn't noticed me two feet in the flipping sky, so I called out to them to remind them of my existence.

"Umm, Guys?"

They stopped what they were doing and looked to where my voice was coming from and they looked up, their calm looks evaporated into shock, worry and fear, Audine then yelled at me and like her expression fear and worry was laced in her words.

"ALICE HOW THE HECK DID YOU GET UP THERE?!"

"I DON'T KNOW, I CANT CONTROL THESE DARN THINGS!!"

Just as I said that the wings jerked me to the left, causing me to let out a small undignified squeak of surprise, I felt so scared as the wings then jerked me to the right and I then shut my eyes tight not wanting to look at the ground as I felt the wings take me further up into the sky, my breaths were starting to come in deep and short, Crow then started to yell at me to calm down, after a few minutes I managed to calm myself down a bit and forced myself to open my eyes and looked down to see that I had risen 5 feet off of the ground and I immediately shut my eyes tight again once more, I felt myself beginning to panic again before hearing Crow yelling at me again.

"ALICE REMAIN CALM AND THINK ABOUT COMING BACK DOWN ON THE GROUND!!"

I was confused about what Crow had just said but decided to try and follow through on her advice, my eyes remained shut tight in case I flew even higher and after what felt like hours when it may have been minutes when I finally felt my feet touch the ground once more, after I stomped my left foot on the ground to make sure where I had landed was solid, was when I finally gathered the courage to open my eyes, after doing so to my surprise saw Crow looking at me with genuine concern, this surprised me because Crow never showed me these emotions before so to me this was very strange.
