It has been three days since Jennie saw Lisa last and she cannot quite figure out what she is to do after sending her last text to Lisa who seems to be ignoring all of her six attempts to reach out to the surgeon and to stop all her wilding thoughts about what happens to the surgeon now. She cannot even help her hopeless arse moving its way to the hospital and see for herself what the life of the neurosurgeon has been since she understands the woman enough and how she is so anal about her boundaries and privacy.
That is what she lets herself believe.
Because truthfully, even after three days of being away from Lisa and slowly letting the fact that the woman suffers from cancer sink into her realm of consciousness and reality, she still chooses not to push her physical presence towards Lisa because she fails to figure out how to face the woman after everything else has settled in. She does not know how to act as if she does not know what is happening because she does know that one particularly important thing about the woman but the woman herself does not know that the news has been broken to Little Miss Kim by dr. Roseanne Park, the best friend.
And although Jennie has chosen to be a part of Lisa's life despite the fact that the surgeon has neither the will to live nor the longest expected life span, she is not sure if the surgeon will let her be in her life considering how it has been a while since she reached out to her without any response from the very lass. Yet, that day she finds out what the verdict is going to be because it is not long after she opens her little bookstore when the very figure she has been missing for three days makes her entrance to Jennie's abode.
Lisa looks paler than she originally is. She looks unwell but her smile is exhibited so warmly unlike the usual cold demeanour she permanently tattoos on her face and Jennie has no choice but to be left stunned by the sight.
The surgeon clearly misses her too.
"Hi, Stranger."
Lisa breaks the silence first, still smiling fondly towards Jennie who finally finds her way to set her own smile alight.
"How are you, Stranger?" Jennie chuckles.
"I've been better," Lisa looks at Jennie, seemingly contemplating unsolved matters in her mind as she makes her way further into the bookstore.
"You've been busy too," Jennie eyes Lisa, subtly mentioning the abandoned bunch of texts she sent to the woman with no replies. Lisa, on the other hand, takes her good seconds before she understands the meaning behind Jennie's comment, indeed referring to the bunch of texts—exactly 6 of them—she did choose to ignore for the longest of time, for three days it has been.
"Ah, yes. About that..." Lisa distractedly drags her words as her finger finds its way towards her cheek, as usual, scratching her skin to cast her imaginary itch away.
"... I have something I must tell you."
Jennie's previous words about her being busy seem to be flicking Lisa's nervous tick and sparking unintended anxiety in the pit of her stomach, reminding her of a major thing she finds it necessary to share with Jennie but she is not quite sure how she is supposed to break the news to the smaller woman.
It is not something she is fond of, considering how she enjoys every bit that she has shared with Jennie and she knows very well how Chaeyoung will throw her off a cliff if she finds out what she is about to do.
But here goes.
"I like you, Jennie."
She likes her.
Lisa likes her.
Jennie freezes at the fallen words in Lisa's mouth. That was not what she expected at all. Only three days ago she admitted to Jisoo her feelings for Lisa and three days later bring her to today with Lisa standing before her own eyes telling her that she likes her.
