chapter 2

Carli's pov:
4 days. 4 days since i have talked to maverick and yelled at him. I regret it so much. I never meant to hurt him. I tried apologizing but he just won't talk to me. He acts mad but i know deep down he's really sad about it.

I shake the thoughts away and get ready for school. It's friday so i wear some comfortable clothes. I'm gonna try to apologize to maverick again.

I sigh and grab my things before going outside and getting the car with cash and dani.

They look at me with sad eyes but i look away and put my earbuds in and look out the window staring at the beautiful sky.

I get out of the car without saying bye to cash and dani and walk into the school. Since it's friday i have study hall and so does maverick.

I walk into the library and to the back to where he usually is by himself. But when i walk to the back i see something i was not ready to see.

Maverick

Making out with that...

Blond bimbo....

Maverick's pov:
I take britney's hand and walk down the library to the back. I set down and pull her onto my lap. I lean in and she does the same. Our lips touch and nothing happens but i keep kissing her and run my hands over her waist to her butt and grab. She moans. She pulls away and she leans down and kisses my neck finding my sweet spot making me groan but then i hear a gasp..

Not any gasp...

Carli's gasp.

I pull away from brittany and look at carli with wide eyes.

"Carli.." i say.

"No.. don't say anything. I was gonna apologize but i see that your busy.. I'll leave you alone." she says and walks out.

I watch her leave and then annoying voice enters my ears.

"Ok baby where were we" she says sluttily.

"Not now." i say.

I push her off my lap and get up sprinting after carli.

I reach the hallway and run. I see her walking away with tears down her cheeks.

"Carli!!" i yell for her.

She stops in her tracks and wipes her face.

She turns around and my heart literally breaks.

"Carli..." i say.

"Dont. your happy. Im happy your happy." she says.

"But i'm not happy carli. Your hurting.. When your hurting i hurt. What's wrong?" i ask her.

"Nothing. Im fine. I swear." she says. I don't believe her.

"No your not! Dammit carli! Please just tell me what's wrong"i tell her slightly raising my voice.

"No i can't.." she says and starts crying.

I grab her by the waist and hug. She wraps her arms around my neck and leans her head on my chest.

"You can tell me anything carli" i whisper to her.

"But i can't tell you this.." she says.

That makes my heart break. I'm her best friend and she cant tell me whats wrong.

"Yes you can! You can tell me anything. I'm your best fucking friend!" i tell her.

She pulls away and looks at me but keeps her arms around my neck. She kisses my cheek then speaks.

"Go your girlfriend is waiting" she says.

Girlfriend? I don't have a girlfriend.

Before i could ask her, she was already out the door and walking to her next class.

I get in the car with cash, dani and carli. Just looking at her breaks my heart. She doesn't trust me anymore. I don't think she even thinks i'm her friend anymore and i don't know why. She won't tell me.

I sigh and look out the window. How am i going to get her to trust me again.. To see me as her best friend again.

We pull up to her house and she gets out. I see her parents arent home so i get out as well.

"Carli" i say.

She turns around.

"Yeah.." she whispers.

"Can i come in.. so we can talk?" i ask hopefully.

"Sure" she whispers again and then unlocks her door. I walk behind and we go straight to her room. She walks in and set her things down on her desk and goes over to her bed and sets down. She pulls her knees up to her chest and lays her head on them.

"You can come set down" she says.

I walk and set on the bed in front of her.

"Carli, when you said girlfriend.. What did you mean?" i ask.

"The blond bimbo you took to lunch monday... her.. She's your girlfriend" she says which confuses me.

"Britney? She's not my girlfriend nor ever will be my girlfriend." i tell her.

She sets up and looks at me confused.

"She's not? She told me she was" she says.

"Well she's lying. Were not dating. Screwing around, yes. Dating, no" i say.

She smiles.

"Was that what all this was about?" i ask.

She nods blushing.

"You were jealous. Why?" i ask.

"I wasn't jealous" she says.

"Yes you were.. Why?" i ask again.

"I can't tell you." she whispers.

"Yes you can" i say.

"No! I cant maverick! I can't tell you. It would ruin our friendship" she says whispering the last part.

Ruin our friendship? It's that bad... it can't be that bad then me having a crush on her.

"Carli.. You can tell me anything. Nothing can ruin our friendship.." i tell her softly.

"This will... i dont want to risk it." she says as a tear rolls down her left cheek.

"Nothing will ruin our friendship.. I promise." i tell her wiping the tear away with my thumb but leaving my hand on her cheek. She leans into it making my heart flutter.

"You can tell me whenever your ready.. I won't pressure you" i tell her.

She nods but still keeps her head on my hand leaning in more.

"Do you want to watch netflix?" i ask. She nods and hands me the remote.

"What do you want to watch?" i ask her.

"The walking dead" she says.

I push play and we lean back into bed.

At some point during the show, she ends up in my arms, her head laying on my chest, sleeping.

After a few minutes, I lay her down and cover her up, kissing her forehead and start heading to my house with a smile on my face.
