Dust PoV (still)

The light shone brighter. I covered my eyes in reflex with my arm. When I felt like the light had stopped, I lowered my arm. It was raining, and there were tombstones everywhere. I must be in a graveyard. I saw a silhouette standing next to one of the graves, holding a black umbrella, wearing a long black coat.

Everything after happened too fast for my mind to comprehend. The only thing I could see after was the same person laying on the muddy floor. I ran over to the figure. It was a girl with long, black hair, with the only thing standing out from this gloomy palate of colors was the upside down, golden, heart locket, hanging around her neck. Where have I seen this before? I was going to wake her up, but when I touched her, my hand phased right right through.

"what..? hey! wake up!", I yelled, hoping to get a response.

Nothing.

"looks like i really am dead, huh? this has certainly rattled my bones, heh.", I asked Papyrus.

I waited for a few moments, then said something else.

"papyrus, this isn't funny. show yourself, wherever you are.", I said.

Is Papyrus not here? However, what I wasn't expecting was a response from a different, more feminine voice.

"Heh... nice one honey... you really... tickled my funny bone.", she said.

"you... you can hear me..?", I asked.

          "..."

          "hey! answer me!"

          "..."

"i guess she's just sleep talking. she can't really sleep here though, can she? that's my job.", I said, chuckling a bit.

I looked for a way to wake her up, but it seems like she did that herself. She slowly opened her eyes, raindrops on her face. Then, I could see tears mixed with the rain.

"Why won't you come home, like you promised...?", she said.

*flashback dream*

"His heartbeat is slowing! Get him to the emergency room, now!", a doctor said.

          "Wake up! Please...", I said.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but only officials are allowed beyond this point. Please wait here.", I male surgeon said.

          "Alright... I'll wait.", I responded.

Everything happened so fast. One moment me, Samuel, and Peter were enjoying a drink, another moment there's gunfire, and at this second, they're in the surgery room, clinging onto life. After what seemed like hours, I was allowed to see them again.

I asked which room they were in, and ran toward room 637. Almost breaking down the door, I got in to see them wrapped in bandages on Samuel's head, mostly his left eye, legs, and chest and Peter's head, chest, left arm, and both legs.

           "hey, honey...", he said.

           "SAM!", I cried out.

I hugged him with all the love and strength I could muster.

"y/n... please... you're choking me...", he said.

"Oh, sorry...", I said, releasing him.

"it's ok... stay positive.", he said, winking at me.

"Really?! At this time?! I'm feeling a little negative about this.", I said, winking back at him.

It was only then, I heard the monitor beeping slow down.

"Sam?!", I said.

"i'm ok, buttercup. Don't knead to worry about... me...", he said.

"No! I know something's wrong! Please! You promised me...", I said.

"you know how much I hate promises. plus, aren't most promises I made, broken by now...?", he said, "now, before I go... say my pun was good.

"No way! Don't leave me!", I cried once more, tears dwelling in my eyes.

"i'm leaving alright, but... don't worry... i'm coming back... now say my pun was good. for me?", he said, drowsy.

"Nice one honey... you really.... tickled my funny bone.", I finally said.

"Thanks... don't worry, I'm coming back..."

*flashback dream end*

I woke up laying on the muddy ground next to Samuel's and Peter's grave. That memory... I thought I could forget that engraved moment in my heart, but it seems engravings can't be removed.

"Why won't you come home, like you promised...?", I said, sobbing.

Hey! Clockwork here! WOOOOOOOO, WE ACTUALLY GOT TO THE MILESTONE! I honestly thought it was going to take a little while longer than this, but, it happened anyway! I just wanna say thanks to all the people that listened to meh friend Monster_Guardian! She's been really supportive of what I've been doing and gave me a little nudge in the right direction!
