Dust PoV

I woke up to the barrier slightly pushing me. "Y/N" must have woken up already. I got up, knowing that the bed would make itself. I passed through the door and saw her putting on her coat and getting a solid F/C backpack on her back, before opening the door and closing the door behind you.

The barrier started pushing me again, and I decided for it not to keep it pushing me. I walked behind her, looking around at times to get a feel of the area. There was a cafe, a park, and some other stuff. Nothing noteworthy. We started walking up some stairs to some building that was marked B-3 that I guessed was her classroom. She sat near the window, two seats away from being in the corner. Then, a seemingly middle-aged man walked into the classroom.

"Alright class, your attention! Please take out your medical binders, we're going to review the nervous system and how you can prevent it from shutting down. E/N, what are the functions of the left and right side of the brain, and how can they affect everyday lives if, say, one of the sides has a defect?", the man said.

I widened my eyes in shock. This was rudimentary! Can't believe this is what teachers have come to.

"pfft, this is easy. the left side of the brain is responsible for controlling the right side of the body. it performs tasks that have to do with logic, such as in science and mathematics. on the other hand, the right hemisphere coordinates the left side of the body, and performs tasks that have do with creativity and the arts. if say, the left half of the brain was damaged in any way, that would control movement and sensation in the right side of the body, and the right half of the brain controls movement and sensation in the left side. thus, damage to the right side of the brain may cause movement problems or weakness on the body's left side.", I thought, "heh, i'm such a nerd."

Having a few PhDs makes this elementary. Though those PhD don't really matter right now anyway. The class continued for quite some time, and I decided to nap a little. Finally, a bell rung, assuming that it meant something. Everyone then, started to exit the room, but I still wasn't ready to wake up yet. However, the barrier said otherwise. It started to push me some more, and eventually I'd had enough of this.

"alright, geez. wonder if i can still use magic...", I asked myself.

I raised my arm up, sensing that familiar surge of power, rushing to my arm. Bones came out of the ground as expected, but the few bones that hit a desk or a chair, seemed to phase through the material as well.

"heh, seems my magic is as ghostly as i am.", I said.

However, the bones that even touched the barrier, broke into shards.

"it seems that nothing can break this stupid barrier, but i can still use magic... what's the point of having magic then?!", I said.

I despawned all the bones, even if nobody would see them. I wanted to perform a few more experiments though. First, I made sure I could still use the rest of my magic. Blasters were ok as always, and teleporting was alright, however, even blasting or attempting to teleport behind the barrier is a no-go. Soul manipulation also didn't work, but it was reasonable, since I can't seem to physically move or touch anything.

"sigh, looks like my options are really limited, aren't they?", I said, eyeing in the direction of Y/N eating her lunch, "come to think of it, i've never heard the name before, yet it feels... familiar."

I looked up at the gloomy sky. The clouds were still gray from the rain yesterday. I started smiling, but then I felt something rolling down my cheekbone.

"why? why do i still have those memories of the all timelines? i'm convinced this is a different universe, where monsters don't even exist. i haven't even heard a mention of Mt. Ebbot, or that monster falling down. not even a missing poster. That's enough for me to confirm that i'm not in my 'universe'. hell, i even died! but even then, i still have all those memories.... all those past timelines.... heh, and all that snow white dust.... all that exp and lv... all that power...!", I remarked to myself, "all wasted..."

I looked down now, my neck getting sore of looking up.

Lost..?

I sighed. This is going nowhere. I glanced over to Y/N again. She was on the floor, bruised.

Welcome to the 5th (or 4th if you don't count the Prologue as a "chapter") chapter of this trash I have written! Seriously, why are you even here, reading this? Welp, beats me. This is Clockwork, bye!

(Also, FYI, E/M means Enemy Name, so it could technically be your mortal enemy, someone you hate, or anyone who fits that criteria.)
