Then and Now

Are we still friends? Or something more?

"Jess!" my cousin kayla screamed while letting her suitcase drop to the floor. Yes I mean suitcase they were staying for a month and her school and my school is on a short break. "Hey kayla!" I mimicked while giving her a hug. You see there's 1 I like out of the 2 cousins that are going to be staying with us. 1 is kayla and the other is her sister Amber. Kayla has a more sporty / quirky/ fashion type of attitude, while her sister on the other hand is insanely obbesed with boys, shopping and did I mention BOYS! Last year she stole her bestfriends boyfriend now her bestfriend boyfriend is her boyfriend or might I say was.  If that makes any sense. Kayla is 17 and and so is Amber, they also have a brother named Jake and hes 19 .  Sadly he was away at college .Man I miss him.

"Amber. " I said unenthusiastically faking a smile. "Hey. " she said most likely also faking. I gave her a slight smile before turning my attention back to kayla who was in the car chatting  with my mom. As I was walking I felt someone tap my shoulder. But not just anyone my best best best best friend / (other than carla ) but cousin. " Jake!" I said as I engulfed him in a big hug wrapping my arms around his neck. "What are you doing here aren't you supposed to be at college ?" I asked. "I'm here for you !,I took a semester off so I could come see you." he smiled. "Thanks but can you even do that?" I said smiling."I have no idea ."" You're here now and thats all that matters.  "Yeah lets get to the car before everyone leaves. " Jake said smiling. "That's a good Idea !  i said as we ran towards the car.

I was at home eating ceral at 4 laughing with my cousins except Amber who was upstairs talking to (you guessed it) a Boy. Thank goodness Jake didn't know or this would turn into a court session. I was laughing at Ridiculoussness, the show on Mtv, when my cousin kayla screamed looking at her phone. "What is it? " I asked my heart pounding.  "There's this party at my friends house at 7 we are so going. she said smirking. "Aww do I have to goooo!" I said whining. Kayla stood up and walked towards me. "Yeah you do,unless you have something better to do" she said smirking. Smirking reminded me of Jake, Jake! I could call him to see if wants to hang out since our "date" got cut short. I pulled out my phone not bothering to reply to kayla.

"Phone call"
It ringed three times before he picked up. "Hey jess!" he said. I could picture him smiling. "Hey do you wanna hang out tonight at 7 ?" I asked hopefully he'd want to. "Yeah sure! " he said happy. "Great see ya at 7." I mentally high dived myself now I dont have to go  the stinken thing.

"I wish you were coming!" kayla said. "Oh well, I can't, bye now!" I said smiling as I closed the door.

Now to wait for eric.

Fast forward:

"Hey." I smiled as I opened the door. "Hey jess." he smiled as he gave me a hug. I smiled as I walked toward the living room when Eric grabbed me by my arm turned me around and smashed my lips to his. He pulled me closer by the waist and deepened the kiss as he pushed me onto the wall, too bad there wasn't one. "Ahh! " I yelled as I fell onto the wooden floor. "I'm so sorry. " he said as he helped me up. I laughed "Way to ruin the mood." "Yeah um I'm gonna go now bye." he said as he rushed out the door. I stood there dazed and confused. 

As days went on I got no texts from eric no messages not anything. I tried calling him, texting, and voicemail but nothing, nothing at all. I threw my phone on the floor while snuggling under the cover more. Just as I was about to close my eyes, I was awakened by a knock on a door, It was Jake.

 "Hey come on get on out of the covers its been a whole day, what's wrong? " Jake asked sincerely as he plopped down beside me on the side of my bed. 

"Nothing. " I said complaining.

 "Somethings wrong, is it a boy problem, ?Did someone break up with you?" he said .

 I sat up in my bed deciding to tell him, besides I could tell him anything. "Well there's this boy..I trailed off when Jake interrupted me.

 "Eric, right?" I gave him a look that said

 "How did you know?" "Sarah told me." he said answering my unspeakable question. " That Blabbermouth. " I mumbled. 

"But anyway countinue." Jake said gesturing his hands for me to countinue. 

"Right so anyways ... I trailed offf. Once I finshed the story Jake was speechless. "S -so wait he kissed you on the lips, made you fall, helped you up, then he left?" I nodded in agreement sadly.

 "Wow jess,  he paused. "Come on ." he said as he held out his hand standing up. 

"Why?" I asked suspiciously. "Because you need to get out, get some fresh air, come lets go. " he complained. "Fine. " give me an hour. " I said. 

"Great see ya downstairs." he said excitedly." What have I got myself into?"
