----×----
After the fiasco, Manik and Nandini were back to normal after a long conversation and when they decided to go and get some sleep they came across Cabir sleeping in a sitting posture on the dining table itself. Nandini smiled at him and they walked towards him to wake him up and ask him to go to his bedroom but after he woke up he couldn't sleep again thus the three of them landed on Manik's balcony attached to his bedroom with three cups of coffee.
They talked about what to do in the morning and how to explain everything to their families but later their chats seemed to take up topics from all around the globe in all sorts of genres and then eventually reduced to Cabir's snores. The couple smiled at that and decided to crash right there in each other's arms beside Cabir who had dozed off with his head in Nandini's lap, welcoming sleep to occupy their senses as well.
"Morning, beautiful." Manik nibbled over Nandini's ears, cutely whispering that to her. She smiled without opening her eyes at the tingling sensation making him grin wider.
"Good morning." she mumbled, rubbing her eyes before opening them completely. He kissed her cheeks and by now she was totally awake. She gave him a heart-fluttering smile and then looked down on her lap to find Cabir sleeping in the same position as last night. Her hands were on Cabir's shoulder while Manik's hands remained wrapped around her.
"What time is it?" she asked him in a hushed voice.
"7 am. No one is going to be awake before at least 11, today, given their tiredness from yesterday's travel." he said. She nodded in agreement and placed her head back on his chest, realising they still have a good two hours and they could also let Cabir sleep for a little more.
"What do you think, will the folks understand us?" she questioned. It was a constant query in her mind since the time she had walked into that cafe to tell Manik about her feelings for him. She was answerable to her uncle and aunt monotonously, but also to Manik's and Avidaan's parents which is what scared her more.
In the past two years she had grown close to Manik's dad more than anyone else which was a consequence of him spending lots of time with her to convince her into marrying Avidaan. He was a great man and loved Avidaan just like his own son. In the beginning, it was hard to differentiate between his dad and uncle. She was worried what would he think because his opinion would matter now more than anybody to decided hers and Manik's future.
"I don't know but one thing is for sure that I'm not going to let anything affect us. We've been apart for a long time and now I'll do anything to keep you close to me. Although, it would have been a lot more easier if you had agreed on marrying me." he mumbled the last part with such frustration that she pulled his cheek in admiration. He scrunched up his nose at that while she giggled.
"We are not getting married falling prey to circumstances. One such decision has only put me in this place today so I'm not repeating that mistake again. I'll marry you when both of us are ready and when we really want that for our life untill then I'm better off being your girlfriend." she uttered with a certainty that he understood her and accepted that she was right. Though marriage looked like an easy solution right now but it was true that they had to explore a lot before deciding that for each other.
