Overboard

Chapter 4: welcome to camp

Lezi and I keep walking until a girly squeaky voice says on speakers around the camp

Lunch time everybody, campers meet in the main cafeteria while counselors meet out by the lake, next to the yellow buses, under the tiki hut. Thank you.

Lezi and I go back to the path to our cabin, since the lake is right in front of it while the buses are on the right. We sit down on the brown wood benches under a big long narrow tiki. Some counselors are gathered around already. I find myself trying to look for Justin. My eyes find him two benches away, talking to two girls that look like they belong to a freakin Barbie horror film. They had dark sprayed on orange skin with bleached hair. He seemed to be annoyed of their company, but felt bad not to talk back. I kept staring at him until his eyes landed on me. He smiles at me then excuses himself from them and walks over to me and Lezi.

Justin:hey Gracie, I've been hoping to see you around.

Gracie:well here I am. Had fun taking to tangerine and nectarine over there?

Justin:yeah they're really bright people, just by looking at them you can tell they're full of color.

we laugh. I look over at Lezi and say

Gracie:hey Justin I'd like you to meet Lezi

Lezi:it's short for Lezeveth

Lezi is sitting on the table and Justin stands while they wave at each other with smiles on their faces.

Justin:hey I'm Justin

Lezi:yeah I can see, so what brings you here?

Justin:actually, don't laugh but community service brought me here.

Lezi and I exchange glances. Justin smiles at me then laughs.

Justin:yeah I heard what you said about me Gracie, you gave me a nice first impression of yourself.

Lezi awkwardly laughs while I just laugh normally and say

Gracie:I didn't mean for you to hear that. Wait how did you hear that?

Justin:I saw you walking and I was gonna talk to you, but I heard your little remark and thought you were busy. Oh also I heard what Lezi said about me liking you and it's not a complete lie.

That remark strangely sends butterflies all over my body. I mean yes he's hot, but I'm not attracted to him. I mean maybe I wanna sleep with him, but this feeling, I've never really felt it before. It kinda scares the crap out of me. He winks then changes the subject

Justin:you hungry? I can get you some food

Gracie:yeah that'd be good, thanks

Justin:okay I'll be right back, stay here. I don't want your pretty body to go out of my sight.

He smiles a joking smile then heads towards the food. Lezi looking at me the whole time.

Lezi:wow, that was something. Do you like Justin?

Gracie:no, Lezi I do not, stop being so nosy.

Lezi:hey I'm nosy when I know stuff and I know that Justin gives you tingly feelings.

She says that while tickling me. I laugh and smack her hand causing her to stop.

Gracie:stop, okay no. He just wants to sleep with me.

Lezi:what? how do you know that?

Gracie:because I've slept with his friend and his friend told him all about me. Trust me he just wants sex.
