Chapter 17: Truth Hurts, But Lying Hurts More

Neel's Narrative

After bringing Lily back into my penthouse suite, I placed her in the bed. I was hurt by the fact that she ran away from me and I immediately felt rejected. I knew that it was too soon for me to show her who I truly was, but I had no choice. I had to do what needed to be done all because of Deon and that bitch Mila. I didn't want to show her who I was. I wanted her to fall in love with me. I wanted her to trust me and to know that I will always protect her from anything and anyone that is trying to cause her harm. I just watched her sleep. I didn't bother to get in the bed with her because I didn't want her to wake up attacking me and shit. So I sat at the end of the bed and watched her sleep.

I felt my phone vibrate and I walked out of the room.

"Hello." I answered the phone.

"Hey, Neel. Is this a good time?" asked Sebastian

"Yeah. What's up?" I asked.

"So, I found an apartment for your mate and I was able to lower the price an enormous amount." he said.

"How much is the rent for the apartment?" I asked.

"It is $2500, but I lowered the price to $650." he said.

Holy shit. He deducted the original rent by $1850. I thought to myself.

"Can you do that?" I asked.

"Of course I can. Dude, I'm the actual owner of this apartment. I picked the unit for her so that she can have a bigger space, but not too big. Plus, management couldn't tell me no. All she has to do is sign the lease to the apartment. Unless you want to do it." he said

"I'll sign it just fax it over to me. I have a fax machine in the penthouse that I'm staying in." I said.

"Alright. I'm sending it over." he said.

It took about five minutes for the lease papers to be sent to me. I couldn't complain though, but I was sad because I knew that Lily would want to leave me after showing her my true form and nature.

"Alright. I have the lease. I'll send it to you when we get there. I'll have some of my pack members fly out to decorate her apartment." I said.

"Do you think they will have it decorated in time?" he asked.

"You'll be surprise what my pack members can do when it comes to this type of stuff. Hell, I had five of my pack members go to college for interior design and architecture. You saw how they built and decorated my home in three days." I said.

Sebastian laughed.

"True that. Well man I'll let you get some sleep. I'll see you first thing in the morning." he said.

"Alright bro." I said.

We both hanged up the phone and I walked back into the room to check on Lily. I sat at the desk and watched Lily rest. I worked on things from work just to distract me from everything that has happened. Tonight was beautiful until we saw Deon and Mila. I just wanted to make her happy after her own friend kicked her out of their apartment. Then, Deon's pathetic ass had to call me an alpha in front of Lily. I didn't want her to know about me. Not yet anyway, but it's too late to turn back the hands of time.

I looked at my phone and saw that it was only 2 am. I didn't know that I was working that hard. I was answering emails and going over contracts with other businesses. I saw an email from Mr. Grey pompous ass. I can't lie I would kill that piece of shit because of him and his two followers tried so hard to ruin Lily's life with a bullshit accusation about her not doing her damn job, knowing that she was doing amazing.
