Jack Duff's POV

When I woke up this morning, I knew almost instantly something was wrong, terribly wrong. The air smelt so strange yet intriguing and the entire mansion was silent, it's never completely quiet in this place.

My eyes wonder across my bedroom as they feast upon an empty neighboring bed, Mikey wasn't here and it was way too early for him to be up and out.

Especially since we always wake each other before leaving... It's became a daily routine. Although there was plenty of space for separate bedrooms, me and Mikey found comfort within one another and we refused separation.

My body immediately tenses at the sound of a throat rippling growl erupting through the castle, I couldn't quite recognise the owner but something was most definitely off.

That growl was a warning of possession, a fight was about to break out soon if the intruder doesn't back off. My Alpha instincts were kicking in quickly as it pressures me into checking the situation out but my figure was frozen; the growl was demanding and embarrassingly enough terrifying.

The smell was getting increasingly stronger, it was so unusual and I've never smelt anything like it before. I felt a sudden pull towards the scent, it was so delicious.

Another growl bounces off the freshly painted white walls however this one was strikingly familiar: Mikey Cobban. That causes me to leap out of bed and throw on a random pair of joggers, the need to protect my best friend becoming overwhelming along side the smell.

My door flings open as I sprint through the empty hallways, obviously everyone has sensed the fight about to break out and decided to hide away in their bedrooms.

My heart was pounding against my chest, Mikey never gets involved with conflict and it was so weird to think he was possibly preparing for a battle against a wolf with a threatening growl so they must be overpowering.

Following the scent closely, my eyes widen for a split second as I realise all of this was happening inside Alpha Rye's bedroom. Puzzles began fixing themselves inside my head as I turn towards the doorway and gasp at the sight unfolding.

Rye was clutching a crying Andy inside his arms as Mikey was shouting at him. Both Alphas eyes slowly turn dark red; both beasts getting ready to shift out of pure rage.

I wasn't certain what to do but my wolf was immediately attracted to Andy as I inhale his scent deeply, he smelt amazing.

In that moment, that's when everything clicks... Andy had gone into heat and the Alphas were arguing over him. Rye's canines were emerging from his gums and that was easy enough for me to back off; a fight between two Alphas could be deadly and there was very little chance of stopping it until they decide it's over.

The little blonde Omega was crying, tears trailing down his cheeks as Rye held him tighter. Andy was soaked from the waist down in his own slick and his cheeks were a flushed red, he was constantly moving from what I assumed was discomfort.

Rye barely took any notice in the Omega's lack of keenness to mate and was too focused on Mikey, I wanted nothing more then to remove the poor boy from the situation.

Arousal was probably covering the whole castle at this point from multiple people and no longer just Andy. My nose was burning at the smell although my wolf wasn't too focused on mating but rather getting consent from Andy, there's very little chance he wants any of this.

A loud whimper from Andy causes Rye to snap his neck down, breaking eye contact with Mikey for the first time, and glance over the boy's appearance.
