WHEN I AWOKE THE NEXT morning, I realize Colby isn't beside me. I climb out of bed and enter the kitchen. That's where I find Colby along with my mom. "Good morning, baby," Colby replies to me as he stands up and comes to kiss my cheek.

"Morning."

I go over to the fridge and get myself a water bottle. "What do you planning on doing today?" I ask my mom as I take a sip of my water.

"I'm not sure," she answers.

"Oh. Colby and I might go to the park or something," I answer, smiling at her.

"Cool," she answers, smiling back at me.

I crack two eggs into the skillet and start making the scrambled eggs. Within ten minutes, I have two scrambled eggs on my plate. Setting my plate on the kitchen table, I pour myself a glass of milk and then sit down at the table.

As I eat, I watch as Colby gets up and goes into the living room where Augustine is watching Today on TV. "Hey, man," Colby replies to Augustine. "How was your night?"

"Great," Augustine answers. "My son kind of told me what had happened last night. Are you and Keira okay?"

"Yeah. We're fine," he replies. "We just have a couple cuts and thankfully Milo was arrested."

"That's good," he answers.

Watching Colby give him a small smile, I sigh softly and then finish up my scrambled eggs. When I finish, I put the dirty dishes in the sink and then stare out the kitchen window with a stern look on her face. "Kay-Bear?" Colby asks, cocking an eyebrow.

I turn my attention to him. "Hm?"

"You want to go to the park or something?" he asks, praying to God that she'll say yes. (I wanted to talk to her about this coming weekend.)

"Sure," I answer. "But I have to go shower and change."

"Okay. I have to change too. So we'll leave here in about an hour?"

"Sounds good." Grabbing my phone off the table, I step up on her tippy toes and peck him on the lips. "I love you," I whisper when I pull away.

"I love you too," he replies, grinning at me.

I return a smile and then go upstairs to our room. Sighing mutely, I go into the bathroom and switch the shower on.

When I finish in the shower, I step out and wrap a thin white towel around my curvy body. I slip my thongs on and enter the closet to pick out what I'm going to wear. I finally settle on my super skinny jeans that has a rip on the knee, my solid black Aerie camisole tank, my matching bra that went with the thongs, my Batman Symbol t-shirt, my neon pink and black studded belt, and my black high tops. Grabbing those things, I change into that.

Colby reverses out of the driveway and I turn my attention to him. "So, babe, where are we going?" I ask, cocking an eyebrow.

"Mm, I've decided I want to surprise you," he replies, winking at me.

Playfully annoyed, I roll my eyes. I take his free hand and interlace my finger through his.

When we arrive at our destination, he switches his truck off. He comes over to my side and opens my door—like a gentleman. "Thanks."

He shuts my door behind me and takes me over to the swings. I sit down on the swing and he stands in front of me, taking my hands. "Baby, what are you so nervous about?" I ask, cocking an eyebrow and giving him a curious look.
