Plot is really hard to do. Trust me, I know.
This means you should plan your plot before you write. If you don't know the plot, what I say is to start writing, and if you can't figure it out by three or four chapters, wait a while and draw a chart for yourself.
A few ideas of details to include in previously mentioned chart are:
Characters
Setting
Ending ideas
A general summary
And sometimes a theme or a lesson to include. Also, make sure to describe settings and things for yourself, other wise you might have a character with green eyes one day and brown the next!
Happy writing!
