I get a lot of this advice from Pinterest off of Tumblr (I know, I'm a mess...). It's good advice most of the time.
For example:
1. Try not to make your sentences really, really long, because then it can get really, really confusing to read, depending on how you do it, like this is really not the way to do a long sentence. I've heard it said that once you have two commas, unless there's a list, it's probably enough.2. Limit passive voice, but do not eliminate it entirely. If most of your sentences make sense when you add "by zombies" at the end, you probably need to find a new way to phrase some of them. As one writer put it (link below), we think it sounds more official. Example: You will be made happier. Now we add by zombies. "You will be made happier by
