Quinn’s POV.

I opened my eyes after hearing a noise somewhere, but closed them again when my vision became hazy due to the luminous lights from the ceiling. My head spun with dizziness when I tried to sit bolt upright.

“Oh, Quinn! Thank God you regained your consciousness!” Pracy exclaimed and pulled me for a hug.

My brow creased. I wasn’t expecting to see her standing next to me. She was with my parents as well. When my mother realized I was awake, she stood up and hurried to get to me.

“How are you? Are you in pain?” She went to check on me.

I shook my head in response. “What’s going on? Where are we?” I asked back out of curiosity.

“We’re inside the hospital, honey,” Mom answered.

My face wrinkled as I processed what I had just heard. I took a look around the room. I couldn’t recall what had happened. I had no idea why I was at the hospital.

“How long am I staying here, Mom?”

“It’s been three days…”

My eyes widened in surprise. Three days?! I’ve been bedridden for three days?

“C-Could you please explain what happened?”

“We found you unconscious inside the empty room of the stadium,” Pracy stated. “We presumed you fell asleep due to excessive alcohol intoxication. But after an entire day and you still haven’t woken up, we became concerned. We brought you here, but the doctor said you were fine. So, how come you only awoke after how many days if nothing is wrong with you or your body?”

I stared at nowhere. Everything she said was sinking in. What happened to me, and why did they spot me inside the empty room of the school’s stadium? Why did I regain my consciousness three days later? I have a lot of questions in mind, but none of them have been clarified because I couldn’t remember what happened at the party that night.

Only then did I hear Dad’s voice for the first time today. “Are you sure you don’t feel any pain in your body?”

I nodded. “Yes, Dad.”

“That’s good to know. I have to return to the office now that you’re awake. This week is jam-packed with appointments and meetings for me. I’ll see you later at home. Get well soon,” Dad said as he kissed my forehead and stepped out of the room.

I sighed as I stared off at the door through which he had exited.

“Be patient with your Dad, Quinn. You know he’s a workaholic. He’s been busy these days,” Mom apologized for the sake of my father.

I forced a weak smile. “It’s okay, Mom. I understand.”

I’m used to it anyway…

“I’ll speak with your doctor and see if you can be discharged right away,” she added, to which I nodded. “Pracy, could you please keep an eye on her for a moment?”

“No worries, auntie. I’ll look after Quinn,” Pracy said.

Mom gave her a short nod before she went out. I casted a glance at Pracy. A deafening silence prevailed between the two of us.

“Can you recall in your memories how you ended up inside the vacant area of the stadium?” She broke the silence between us by speaking.

I rubbed my chin. “I can’t remember anything. My memories of what happened are unclear.”
