Quinn’s POV.

“Would you like to dance with me?”

My world seemed to stop at some point, and only Alvaro’s voice could be heard in my ears over and over. My mind drifted away, and all I could think about at the time was him.

I locked my gaze on him for a few moments. His smile lingered on his lips. This was the first time he had removed his seriousness, and I couldn’t believe I was seeing it right now.

I stared down at his outstretched hand. He was waiting for my response. I gave him a gentle nod and a sweet smile.

We were dancing in the middle of the crowd. I was surprised to feel his hand grip my waist. It was nothing out of the ordinary in dancing, so I didn’t understand why it was such a big deal to me. I averted my gaze in awkwardness. I was conscious of the people’s stares.

I wasn’t used to their dance moves, so I was at first perplexed. But, because it was easy and slow, I was able to catch up right away. I avoided looking at Alvaro as much as possible. My face heated up all of a sudden. I could hear whispers from the women around us.

“Look at the prince dancing with someone!”

“Do you know who that mysterious woman is?”

“I don’t even know what her name is. She must be Prince Alvaro’s lover.”

“That is not possible. I just saw Prince Alfaro with her the other day.”

“Goodness! Could she be sailing on two boats?”

“Her boldness in seducing the two Royal Princes!”

“Ha, the nerve! Does she believe they will like her?”

I was annoyed, but I neglected to pay attention to them. They were harsh in their words. I couldn’t take it. How could I sail on two boats with these two Princes who weren’t even my type? I had no idea there were gossipers within the kingdom as well. They must be inevitable.

“Do those women like you?” I turned to Alvaro, pointing to the women who were gossiping about me.

He flashed an innocent look. He didn’t bother to respond. Even so, it was evident. I didn’t have to ask any more questions. I’m pretty sure all of Narva’s women like him.

He had the appearance which could make him stand out in the crowd. He was the kind who had girls swooning over him. That is why his die-hard fans blared up because they saw a woman such as me dancing with their prince. Psh.

I thought I’d be able to relax after a full song, but not quite yet. Alvaro hadn’t yet released me from his grip until now. My foot was a little sore, but I couldn’t tell him. As he drew his body closer to me and tightened his grip on my waist, I became immobile.

“From the way your arms are wrapped around my waist, it seems you don’t want to let me go,” I quipped, but immediately closed my mouth, realizing that what I said sounded like it had a double meaning.

I looked away and bit the inside of my tongue in embarrassment. A smirk formed on the edge of his lips as he noticed my panic.

“P-Please don’t misinterpret what I said,” I stuttered, which I shouldn’t have done.

I was struggling to maintain a steady tone, but my voice shook. I wanted to curse myself because my brain didn’t seem to be functioning.

He finally let go after the song ended. I excused myself to take a short break. On the other hand, he went to his father when His Majesty summoned Alvaro for a second.
