Quinn’s POV.
When my knees suddenly weakened, I clung to the elderly woman in front of me. I feel like I’m going to pass out any second.
“Are you okay, young lady?” she asked me, her voice worried.
I returned my gaze to her and studied her movements. She appeared to be telling the truth. She had no idea where I was referring to because there was no such place. This isn’t even a parallel universe. This is not another country, and even less a dream. If so, there is only one possible explanation.
I’m in another realm...
But what happened? What made it possible? Why is there another world? What was going on was confusing me and depleting the blood in my brain.
I couldn’t recall how I ended up here. All I remembered was entering a door that led to the front of Alvaro’s palace. Aside from that, I knew nothing. So, how did I end up in this world?
The three kingdoms were another source of consternation for me. The kingdom of Corax is the latter. Is it the same as with Narva and Borza? What else is there?
“I-I’m fine,” I answered and straightened up. “May I know about the three Kingdoms? I mean, you’re correct. I’m definitely lost. I went unconscious and when I awoke, I was in another place. I tried to get away and ended up here.”
“You probably came from the far side of Borza, so you’re unfamiliar with the three kingdoms,” she concluded. “You are now in the Kingdom of Borza. People in this area are only from the lower to middle classes. We are not as powerful or prosperous as the other two kingdoms.”
“The path to the Kingdom of Narva is located on the far left side of Borza. The biggest and most powerful of all kingdoms. Almost everyone from the upper classes lives there. Because their king is an excellent ruler, everyone under his authority is disciplined.”
“The dark Kingdom of Corax is located at the far end of the right side of Borza. It was, in fact, the enemy of the two kingdoms. Because the king who rules over them is a rebellious and ambitious leader, his people mirror his bad behavior. He intended to take over our kingdom, but when the King of Narva learned of his plans, he immediately intervened to protect us.”
“As you can see, we don’t have enough weapons or warriors. In short, we can’t beat Corax. We cannot defeat either of the two strong kingdoms. But King Alfredo sent out a large number of good Narva warriors to keep a close eye and fight if we were attacked. We recently received a letter from King Philip of Corax. He’s waging war on two factions. Perhaps he didn’t like the King of Narva interfering with their scheme. Corax forces are powerful, and their fighters are skilled.”
“They are currently preparing, and I know they will strike at any time or day without our knowledge,” she added. “Right now, I’m worried about what might happen to myself and my family. With Corax’s eagerness to win, a bloody battle is inescapable because both their kingdom and Narva are mighty and powerful. It’s going to be a battle to see who can hold out until the end…”
I could feel sweat dripping down my brow. I became extremely nervous for no explicable reason. My brain appeared to be gradually absorbing everything I had learned thus far.
A bloody battle. A battle to see who can hang in until the end...
Then, right now, Alvaro’s family’s life is at stake because they are the target of the king of the Kingdom of Corax. I’m anxious about what could happen.
Will events turn out better or worse?
“T-Thank you, ma’am, for answering my questions. I’ll be off. Goodbye,” I said before turning my back on her and departing.
