Quinn’s POV.
In my panic, I covered my mouth with my hand while casting around. I opened each of the cubicles and couldn’t believe I was inside the school’s restroom! I had zero idea how I ended up here.
How did it happen?
My attention was diverted when my phone buzzed for a ring. Pracy’s calling. I picked it up and answered her call.
“Hello, Quinn? Where have you gone? I asked you to wait for me,” she said on the other end of the line, but I was unable to speak because I hadn’t recovered from the shock of what had just happened. “Quinn, are you there? Hey?”
“I’m on my way back there,” I only said before hanging up the phone.
I was distracted on my way back to the hall and only came to a halt when I noticed Pracy running towards me.
“Where did you go? I told you I’d just go buy some food for us, but you weren’t here when I came back.”
I breathed in deeply. I clung to her shoulders for support. She must be wondering what on earth I’m doing right now.
“Pracy…” I murmured softly. “A strange thing occurred to me.”
Her face was smudged with confusion. “How strange is it? Why? What happened to you?”
“I was just sitting here a moment ago. I swear I didn’t go elsewhere! I just closed my eyes because my stomach hurts, but when I opened them again, I was somewhere inside the cubicle!”
She stared at me for a few minutes before cracking up. She clearly didn’t believe what I told her.
“Did you lose it?” She burst out laughing. “So you believe you teleported, is that what you meant? What the hell, Quinn? Are you saying you have some sort of supernatural powers?”
“I’m not exaggerating, Pracy! Believe me! I'm telling the truth!”
She shook her head. “I think you have to get some rest, Quinn. You shouldn’t be in school yet. If I were you, I’d get rid of your fantasies because they are highly unlikely to come true.”
I averted my gaze as she continued to eat. After we finished our meal, we fell silent for a moment.
“Let’s go back to the classroom,” she mumbled, and I nodded without saying anything.
As we returned to the classroom, I found it difficult to concentrate in class. My thoughts are still stuck on what happened earlier; on why and how I ended up there. It’s astounding and surreal at the same time.
“Ms. Naveen, you’ve been summoned by the Principal.”
When I heard the professor say my name, I shifted my gaze toward her. I stood up and gave Pracy a brief glance before following the professor.
“Why am I being summoned, ma’am?” I asked as we pushed our way to the principal’s office.
I don’t recall doing anything wrong or violating any school rules. This is the first time the Principal has summoned me after how many years I’ve been a student here. It’s a little surprising.
“I don’t know either,” the professor replied.
We stopped in our tracks as we passed the guidance office. She turned to face me.
“Go inside, Ms. Naveen,” she said, and I bowed before entering.
My eyebrows puckered when I noticed there was no one in there, not even the Principal. I took a seat and waited for her, but I became bored and decided to wander around her office until she arrived. There was a large cabinet full of trophies and awards. Also, all of the school’s accomplishments.
