Quinn’s POV.

My profound sleep was disrupted by the sound of my phone ringing. I reached for my phone while my right eye remained closed. I opened a slew of messages from our section’s group chat and Pracy. I only read her most recent message.

Pracy:

Rise and shine! I’m on my way to your house. Have you dressed up?

My eyes widened and I nearly fell out of bed. I didn’t bother responding because I rose up and ran straight to the bathroom. I rushed through my shower. After that, I didn’t waste time looking for something to wear. I simply wore the first thing I saw in my closet. I’m trying to be quick because I know Pracy’s patience is limited. She must be getting impatient downstairs up to this point.

I combed my hair and put on my sandals before exiting the room and making my way to the living room. Pracy was there, as I had expected. She was sitting next to Mom, and it was evident that she was annoyed with me.

“You’re always as slow as a turtle!” she grunted.

I gave her a peace sign before facing Mom. “We’ll be going, Mom.”

“All right,” she said as she hugged me. “Take care and have fun, ladies!”

“We will, Auntie,” Pracy replied. “Many thanks for the delicious dessert.”

Mom chuckled. “You’re always welcome, Pracy.”

“Goodbye, Auntie!”

I was shaken when Pracy yanked me out of the house. I was about to retaliate when she shoved me towards her car. I was fuming as I hopped in.

“Why are you in such a rush?!” I snorted. “We’ve got a lot of time today, Pracy.”

“Well, yesterday I saw something on social media. The boutique shop at the mall where we both agreed to go is having a 50% off sale. The promo will expire today, which is why I was in a hurry. As in, their gowns and dresses are quality and affordable! So, why not give it a try?” she replied with a dramatic shrug.

I rolled my eyes. “Whatever.”

She came to a screeching halt as soon as we arrived at the parking lot. She jumped out of her car with an excited expression. I shook my head and made fun of her.

“You’re acting like a kid.” I cracked up. “Don’t worry, we won’t miss out on that 50% off sale you’ve been aiming for. Take it easy.”

She giggled. When we entered the mall, she immediately pointed out the boutique shop where she planned to purchase our gown for the upcoming party.

“Good day, ma’am! Thank you for visiting our store!” The saleswoman welcomed us with a greeting.

“Good morning,” I replied as we explored the shop.

Pracy was correct when she said there’s a sale and every piece of clothing was elegant. We couldn’t decide what to buy, so we decided to split up first to find more and choose one.

My attention was captivated by two different gowns of the same color. Pracy returned to me after selecting her preferred outfit. I took the gowns I liked and compelled her to pick one for me.

“What do you think will be the best fit for me? Which of these is it?” I asked, lifting the gowns so she could get a proper look.

“Any clothes suit you,” she answered. “But I think the A-line gown on your right hand looks better on you.”
