Prompt: In New Orleans vampires, witches and werewolves are apart of life. But when a new human moves there in hopes of starting fresh in her hometown, she finds out for herself that things in New Orleans aren't what they seem.

You shut your front door behind you and locked it before heading on your way to work, you were feeling better this morning about everything that happened last night after leaving the bar and having that guy save Klaus save you. Yes, you are well aware you were rude in not thanking him and giving him time out of day to ensure he himself was okay- but then again what happened last night wasn't normal and you were scared so you feel alright with what you did.

"Hello, I'm sorry to bother you but you look familiar. Have we met?" You look up into hazel brown eyes "Um.. no I'm sorry I don't think we have. My names Y/n." You mentally cursed yourself for giving the man your name you had no idea who he was, but you just smiled up at him.

"My name is Elijah." He smiles back "Do you mind if I join you on your walk?" As if he read your mind he opened his mouth to speak again "I mean you no harm, I am just making a friendly gesture." You sigh and nod.

"Please, I'm new here it would be nice to talk to someone. I'm just headed to work anyways." You smile and start walking with the man now known as Elijah. Klaus stood in the distance watching you.

He promised to protect you at any cost and he meant it. He let a low growl out as he watched his older brother walk down the street with you, he now knew Elijah would be in this mix.

"It still shocks me, you're a nurse." Elijah looked at you with a soft smile "Yep I am, I have always wanted to help people. It's just in my nature." You smile back at him "Well here we are, this is where we part ways. Have a good day." You nodded and headed into work feeling good about today.

"What are you doing?" Klaus appeared next to his brother as they walked down the street "She's a lovely young lady. But it still doesn't explain why you saved her." Elijah ignores his brothers question as they walk together.

"And before you ask, no she doesn't know I'm your brother. I figured it would save the both of us." Klaus scowled at his brother before turning on his heel and going back towards the hospital so he could watch you and ensure your safety.

You walked out of the hospital and started down the street "Hello, love." You recognized the accent before you even looked up into his green eyes "What do you want?" Klaus smirked and shrugged "I said I would protect you, and I wanted to know what my brother Elijah wanted." He answered knowing well you would believe that they were brothers.

"Elijah is your brother? I couldn't see it, you're nothing like him." You comment.

"We're fighting, not talking." Klaus comments "I have the right to say what I think." Klaus sighs looking at you as you both walked together down the street "Hear me out?" You look at him and deep down inside even you knew that he deserved to be heard out "Fine." You agree.

The rest of the walk to your house he explained the vampires, werewolves, witches all of the supernatural to you. Even what he was. You couldn't believe what you were hearing but you trusted him on this, it was the way he explained it- the way he talked it let you know he was serious.

You stepped into your house and turned around "Well good night Y/n." He turned around and started walking away "Come in." He stopped and turned around looking at you curiously "There is no way to kill an Original, love." He smirked.

"I know you told me, but that's not what I said." He raised an eyebrow and stepped forward "What did you say?" He questions with his stupid smirk on his face still "Come. In." You spoke carefully and he nodded "Fair enough, I knew you couldn't live without my company." He teased making you roll your eyes.

Months flew by, and more and more you were getting wrapped up with the Mikaelson family. Klaus was different and everyone noticed it, it was like the hybrid had a new personality he was still very sarcastic and a sociopath at times but he was warmer. He spent more time with you than anyone else, it shocked his brother Elijah and his sister Rebekah.

Elijah stood at the window watching you and Klaus joke around outside "She really did bring him happiness." Rebekah whispered "That she did, our once stone cold killer of a brother is now a warm sociopath teddy bear." Elijah grinned to Rebekah who laughed.

"It breaks his heart, she does." Rebekah starts "He is so afraid of telling her his feelings afraid she'll shut him out."

"Nik!" You laugh as he lifts you up in the air holding onto you tightly so you wouldn't fall "Yes, love?" You were down in his arms in a minute you felt safe, you felt secure "I love you, Klaus." You whispered quietly he looked into your eyes before he got the biggest smile you've ever seen him flaunt.

"I love you too Y/n." He kissed you gently while you both just smiled.

"I think they finally found out that that will never happen." Elijah whispers looking at Rebekah "He's so happy with her." Elijah nods agreeing with Rebekah's comment.

"Stay with me, forever." Klaus whispers you look at him.

"What?" You asks curiously "Live here with us, you can stay in my room. When the time comes I can turn you." You look at him nervously "Please, it's been forever since I've felt this way and I don't wanna lose you." You nod slowly "Yes."
