I was reading The Art of Harmonization by -sabinee and the last chapter just got me so in my feelings 😫. My poor Mike. I hate Colby now man 😂. Yall go read her books. There's one before it but I forgot the name it's really good. I've really been bothered with how Colby had the audacity to do that and... chile I made up my own scenario cause he really pissed me off. It was the inspiration but I won't be using her character names. You'll know who is who if you've read her book, though. S/N: the video of the fabulous dancing dolls with (captain) Gabby in the front is not what Chance looks like. That's just the pep dance so yall get a little taste of the SWAC HBCU dance style.

She was heart broken. It wasn't enough for her now ex Nasir to cheat on her, but he had to sneak the mistress in her face and break her, too.

Chance believed that Nasir being a professional athlete would hinder the growth on their relationship, but she didn't think that it would end it. She didn't want to believe that after almost two years that the love of her life chose to fall prey to his surroundings after two months.

She stayed in her shared apartment weeping for the past couple days after traveling upstate off of pure rage and hurt to confront him. What hurt the most about it is when she got there, he acted as if it were normal, and that he didn't care. He figured he could have his cake and eat it too, but if he eventually got caught that he would be able to eat from someone else's plate. Either way, he'd have his share while leaving Chance empty.

Throughout the heartbreak, her friends and even his teammate that he proclaimed a "selfish inconsiderate egotistical dick" Alex had comforted her.

She found it strange that Alex, a vet to the game, who had sponsorships and commercials, could find the time to call and text everyday but Nasir, who had been in the game less than four months, had no time at all.

People make time for what they want, she reasoned.

It was a month and a half after the whole fiasco and although her heartbreak was still very much prominent, the attention from Alex had slowed the pain from a fall to a drip. He had become like a best friend to her, and they always called and checked on each other.

After getting to know him, she quickly realized that he wasn't inconsiderate, selfish, egotistical, or a dick at all. He was sweet and understanding, and funny as hell.

Nasir felt threatened; after all Alex is known for stealing women. But he didn't steal me. I chose to talk to him, she thought to herself.

"Am I still invited to see your game?" Alex questioned, bringing her back to reality.

"Yeah, of course. Hopefully you won't get bombarded, though." He scratched his head, nodding.

"Yeah. I won't make it known that I'm there. Do you all have sky boxes? Maybe I can sneak in and sneak out." Chance chuckled, placing her hand on her cheek.

"We have a technician and announcer room, but it's pretty small. You won't really be able to see me dance from up there, though. I'l be in the stands and the panel room is right above where we sit."

"You don't have to come, y'know. I know you'll be on a tight schedule when you get here. You need to be able to get your rest." He shook his head.

"I wanna finally see you in your element. I've never seen dance teams like this at my college before, dancing to an actual band."

"You went to a white D1 school," she mused. "And this is pep band. It's nothing compared to football season. You're lucky you chose this game because we don't perform for all of the basketball games. The girls and I just thought it might be fun to play around in the stands before the parade this weekend."
