I hate waiting. My patience isn't exactly thick when I give a person a time to meet and the person does not arrive in a timely fashion. He is late. Twelve minutes to be exact. This dickhead must be out of his rabbit ass mind if he thinks that I just sit and wait on people. My patience is hanging on to a very thin thread. Taking a sip of my bourbon sour and a puff from my cigar, I contemplate on exactly how I'm going to kill the fucker that has me waiting. I'm an old man and life is short. Since I'm waiting I gaze the sitting area of the restaurant to see if I'll see any signs of who it is I'm meeting until I see something that makes me damn near drop my cigar and drink. It's Storm. Or perhaps a mirage or illusion of sorts. I'm puzzled because I know we left the bitch back home. There is no way it could be her unless she has a doppelgänger. Yeah, that's it the bitch has a doppelgänger. My curiosity gets the best of me and I find myself moving from my seat and walking towards this doppelgänger. If I didn't know any better I'd say that it was her but there are a couple of things that distinguishes the two women apart. For one, the woman has hearings aids in her ears, her hair is naturally curly, and what looks to be burnt skin in her neck area. The shirt she wears hides it well. I can't help myself I feel inclined to speak.
"Excuse does your name happen to be Storm." I say as I come face to face with this doppelgänger.
She tenses and forces a smile on her face but replies nonetheless. "No I'm Rain. Storm is my twin." She say in the softest of voices.
And the damn plot thickens. I thought this bitch was a damn orphan or something. It seems as the information that my son received on her was absolutely incorrect. I knew I should have done my own search. His team was normally reliable however the drop the ball on this one.
"Is this where you work." I asked taking note of the uniform that she is in.
"Yes, I'm a waitress here."
"When is your next break?"
"In another hour."
I don't have another hour so I excuse myself to find the owner or manager. I needed to clear some things up, immediately. As I make my way to someone who appears to be in charge, I asked them for the person in charge and he nods quickly proceeding to ask a string of questions about the service or some shit. I don't know I wasn't paying attention. I had one thing on my mind and that was to speak with the doppelgänger. He suddenly stops making me almost run into him. He's pissing me off and he doesn't even know it.
"What?" I snapped.
"Is there anything that I can do to help you the owner doesn't particularly like for us to bother him with frivolous matters." He replied trying to seem confident.
"If you can give Rain off the rest of the evening then by all means help you little shit." I say. At this point my patience is totally out of the window and I don't give a shit about what matters his boss doesn't like dealing with. I'll soon be a matter if I don't get what I want and soon.
"I'm afraid I can't do that." He says
"Of course not dip shit. Now please if you mind can you take me to the person who owns this fine establishment."
He looks at me then turns around and proceeds to walk towards a door where he knocks and someone on the other side gives permission for entrance. We enter to be meet with a woman who was no taller than 5 feet. She had a frown on her face and her body language screamed, I have the Napoleon complex. I almost laughed however I refrained from doing so.
"Can I help you." She asks bluntly.
Not wanting to be in her presence any longer than I had to be I get straight to the point. "I'll give you 5 grand to let Rain leave early today." I tell her looking her dead in the eye.
