Chapter Sixteen

Senior Year

Clarke's POV

It is the first day of senior year and I am already ready for it to be over. I get dressed into a black and white striped tank top, a pair of black jeans ripped from bottom to top, my black leather jacket, and my black combat boots. I walk over to the bathroom and throw my grown-out hair into a messy bun and put on mascara. I then walk back to my room and grab my black satchel before I stomp downstairs. I make my way to the kitchen where I find my mom and Marcus giggling with each other stealing kisses. I smile at them before I go to the fridge grabbing an apple and water. My mom is the first to notice me after I have my things.

"Good morning Clarke, you ready for you first day of senior year?" she asks walking over to me.

"Yeah I guess but I already want it to be over" I reply kissing her cheek before walking over to the island.

"You should be excited Clarke, it is your last year of high school. The last time year of your childhood." Marcus says giving me a small smile.

I return his smile before giving him a kiss on the cheek as well.

"I will see you guys later. I got to go before I'm late for my first day" I chuckle before walking outside to my car.

I get to school 15 minutes later after I made a stop at McDonald's for chicken nuggets and fries, don't judge my breakfast habits. I get out of my car and I am almost trampled by Octavia.

"WE'RE SENIORS, BITCHES!" Octavia screams.

I laugh at her excitement before I pull her with me as I make my way inside. We get inside and we make our way to our lockers. We are currently putting our things away when I here my name being called over the intercom.

"Clarke Griffin to the office please. Clarke Griffin to the office please." the voice announces.

I groan throwing my head back in frustration. What the hell did I do now?

I look around to see that everyone is looking at me. i just roll my eyes before grabbing my math stuff and slamming my locker shut.

"Don't you all have lives of your own to worry about!" I yell out down the hall.

Octavia chuckles covering her mouth with her hand. I shake my head and slowly make my way to the office. When I get their Principle Jaha is standing their waiting for me with a boy around my age that looks oddly just like Jaha.

"Ahhh Clarke, this is Wells and I would like you to show him around. He has the same schedule as you so it will be easier for you to show him around." Jaha explains once he notices me.

"So I'm not in trouble?" I question

"Not unless you know something I don't." He answers raising an eyebrow.

"Nope, I haven't seen Jasper or Monty yet today so nothing yet" I chuckle in response.

He just shakes his head and gesters for me to leave. I give him a smirk before turning around and leaving. The new guy follows me and we head to our first class Math.

"So your name is Clarke right?" Wells asks starting a conversation.

"Yeah, so are you related to Jaha or something? You guys look a lot a like." I respond with my own question.

"Yeah, he's my dad. But could you not tell people? I really don't need the heat from people."

"Yeah I get it"

We slowly make our way to class just chatting about random things and I occasionally point out classrooms or school areas he should know about. Wells is actually a really cool guy so I invited him to sit with us at lunch.

We get to class right before the bell rings and we are separated as the teacher puts us all in our assigned seats. She then starts talking in some foreign language and I just zone out.

The day has been drowning on all day and it is finally lunch. I show Wells to the lunch room and my table before he heads over to the lunch line to grab food while I head over to my friends at our normal table. Jasper tosses me a taco bell bag that has my normal order and Monty nudges over my drink, I thank them before I dig in. We are all messing around when Wells walks up and sits next to me. I am about to great him but Murphy speaks up first.

"Hey Newbie, your not allowed to sit here so scram." He hisses.

"Murphy chill, I invited him to sit with us so shut your trap." I snap.

Murphy rolls his eyes giving me a smirk.

"Don't worry about him he's all talk and no bite" I explain to Wells, giving Murphy a challenging smirk.

"It's cool" Wells replies.

"So you met Murphy, this is Jasper, Maya, Monty, Harper, and Octavia." I introduce pointing out each person.

They all reply with some sort of greeting and Wells nods with a small wave.

"So Murphy how has Raven been?" Monty asks.

"She's doing good. She had moved into her new apartment in the city last week. She is going to be leaving for London next month." Murphy explains.

"What about Bellamy, Octavia?" Jasper asks.

My breath hitches. Murphy Smacks Jasper in the chest.

"Oww wh- Oh sorry Clarke" he apologizes.

"Guys its fine. He is our friend, its not like Bellamy and I don't talk." I lie giving them all a fake smile.

Octavia just stares at me for a moment before she answers Jasper's question.

"Umm... He is doing good for the most part he wishes he wasn't so far away but he loves the school. He actually has a internship at a law firm near his dorm." Octavia says.

A small smile grows on my face as I am looking down at my food.

"So Wells how are you liking Arkadia High so far?" Maya questions after a short silence.

"Its been good, I mean, at least as good as school can get." He answers with a small chuckle.

Everyone else chuckles and nods in response.

~ At the end of the day ~

I get home and today all of my friends had come with me, Lincoln and Raven, meeting us there. We walk inside with plans of having a bonfire but are stopped when I notice my mom and Marcus setting up the table for a large group.

"Umm... mom whats going on? Should we go hang out somewhere else?" I ask.

"Oh Clarke, no this is for all of us, I figured you would bring everyone along. Marcus and I wanted to announce something to everyone." My mother answers giving me a bright smile.

"Whats going on Abby?" Raven joins in.

"Marcus and I have decided that the wedding will be March 15th." My mom announces.

We all cheer and they chuckle before Marcus adds to the news.

"We have also decided we would love if you guys would be in the wedding."

Again we all cheer. My mom then ushers us to the table where we celebrate for hours laughing and telling memories. We are all one big family.
