Beep, beep, beep. I groaned as I rolled over. The light shining through my window blinded me as I turned off my alarm clock. I slid out of bed and got dressed. I put on a black knee length skirt with a blue tank top. I brushed my black, curly, shoulder length hair into a pony tail. Then I headed downstairs for breakfast. Mom was preparing her coffee. I looked at her up and down to see the today her also black, curly hair in a bun. She was wearing a light blue tank top over her thin torso with jean shorts that went a little over halfway down her thigh. Her feet were bare at the moment.
"Good morning, Raven! Excited for your first day of high school?" Mom asked cheerfully.
"Not really." I say as I grabbed a box of cereal.
"Don't be like that. This year could be different." She said playfully.
"That's what you said last year." I say back. She just sighed and continued to get ready. I finished eating my cereal and I quickly brushed my teeth.
"The bus is here!" Mom called. I ran downstairs, grabbed my backpack, and ran out the door. "Good luck!" Mom called.
"Thanks!" I yelled back, then I hopped on the bus. I found an empty seat and sat by myself. For the rest of the ride I watched the houses and builds pass by.
Once I got inside the school, I went straight to the auditorium. There waiting was my best and only friend. She was sitting there with her green eyes glued to her phone. She was wearing jean shorts, with a white tank top. A black trucker hat sat on her head. Her curly, brown, and blond streaked hair was in a pony tail which was pulled through the gap in the back of her hat.
"Hi Laurel." I say sitting down.
"Hello, Raven," She says looking up from her phone, "How was your summer?"
"It was great! How about yours?" I ask.
"Pretty good." She replied. We continued talking about our summer until the bell rings. Then we ran to class.
Mrs. Jones walked into the classroom. She was wearing a white lab coat, blue jeans, and red converse. Her curly black hair is in a bun. Pink streak went through her hair. A pair of safety goggles lay on her head.
"Good morning, class." Mrs. Jones started, "Since we might not know everyone here, I think you should introduce yourselves and share one thing about yourself. I'll start. My name is Mrs. Jones, and I like skiing"
Rebecca, and tall, pretty, and snobby girl asked, "Do we have to?"
"Yes, you do." Mrs. Jones said.
"I'm Rebecca and I like hanging out with Rachel." She said gesturing to an also tall, pretty, and snobby girl.
"I'm Rachel and I like hanging out with Rebecca." She says gesturing it to Rebecca. We kept going around the class, until it got to Laurel
"I'm Laurel, and I like cosplaying." She said.
Then it was my turn. "My name is Raven and I like Fairy tail."
"Tell us something we don't know." Rebecca snickered. My face started turning red.
"Rebecca, don't talk to your peers like that." Mrs. Jones said sternly. The rest of the morning flew by smoothly, no problems what so ever. Next thing I knew its lunch time.
I got through the busy lunch line and got today's meal, pizza. I sat down next to Laurel.
"So do you still like 'him'?" Laurel asked me slyly.
"Yes I still like 'him'." I say rolling my eyes, my face feeling warm. 'Him' is this boy called Joshua Jones, who is kind of a nerd, but I think he's really cute. His mom is Mrs. Jones. We spent the rest of lunch talking about our vacation or gossiping about people. Next was algebra, my least favorite class.
I walked in and found a seat. It was at the front of the class since there wasn't very many seats left. As I'm waiting I opened my sketchbook and started drawing the fairy tail emblem.
Suddenly Joshua came in and sat next to me. He was wearing a slightly baggy red t-shirt. He was wearing jean pants with red converses. He had messy black curly hair. Only two seats were open and he choose the one next to me. Then the teacher walked in.
"Hello. My name is Mr. Jason." he said in a deep voice. "Since its the first day I want you to get to know each other. You will partner up with the person next to you. Raven and Joshua, Amy and Olivia..." He continued to talk but all I could think about was getting to talk to Joshua for the first time.
"So do you like anime?" Joshua asked bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Yes. My favorite is Fairy tail, yours?"
"Mine is Fairy tail too." We continued to talk about Fairy tail and other things like anime, Harry Potter, and Yu-gi-oh.
"Okay. Times up. Now were going to go around and you have to share something that you learned about your partner. Why don't you start, Joshua?" Mr. Jason said.
"Okay. Raven likes Fairy tail." Joshua says.
"Joshua likes anime." I say. We continue around the room until no one is left. Then we go over the rules for the class. The rest of the day went by smoothly, but I was happy when it was time to go home. I climbed on the bus thinking about a new anime I want to start watching called Blue Exorcist. Suddenly I tripped and I fell onto my knees. There's a lot of laughing as I scramble to get up. I looked back to see what tripped me and I see Rebecca pulling her foot out of the isle. I continued to my seat ignoring the remaining laughs and giggles.
As soon as I arrive to my two story, gray house I ran to my room to watch Fairy tail.
After a few episodes I hear "I'm home!" Soon mom peeks her head into my room, "Come out. I want to hear about your first day." She left as I scooted off my purple bed. I walk into the kitchen and see mom starting the dish washer.
"How was your first day?" she asked looking up at me.
"It was good I guess." I say as I think about how I got to talk to Joshua.
"Well that's better than last year." mom says. I shuddered at the thought. "Anymore details?"
"Mrs. Jones is really nice." I say after some thought.
"That's good. I like her too." Mom says.
"Well I going to continue watching Fairy tail. Bye" I walk to my room and I flop onto my bed as I grab the remote.
