It happens normally for us that we get many ideas at the same time, we just don't know for a second what to do with them. We get so excited to execute them all. And sometimes, we tend to mix our ideas and add more and more to what's already perfect. It's completely normal. But when do we know it's time to stop adding and mixing, or when it's too little?
Depending on your taste, you define what's the right amount of things in your work. Too much for you might be too little for me, for example.
We know it's too much when we get a sense things aren't just in harmony anymore. They just can't seem to fit in anymore. If your eye can't focus on a main point because there are too many things to watch, then it might be right to separate your ideas. Leave the secondary idea for another time to develop it better.
However, we know it's too simple when we get a sense there's nothing interesting to see there. We watch a single thing and look away, because there's simply nothing else too observe and analyze. In this case, then maybe add something else, as little as it may be, too capture people's eyes and leave them wanting to see more. That's when you've achieved your goal.
What is the 'right' amount on your work? You know what they say, nor too much nor too little does good. Just try to keep a balance. Too complicated is too much for the person to process it, so it begins to repel them and they end up looking at something else. Too simple is too little for the person to process, ending up in being easily forgotten. However, when it's "right", you can leave the message to the person without any major problem.
