Clockwork didn't seem the least bit nervous, while Sadie looked completely confident. BEN was glancing at Sadie every now and then, while Toby's attention was mainly on Clockwork.
"Who goes first?" Sadie asked, seeming to brighten up for the first time since the accident.
Everyone looked around, as if someone would volunteer. After a second of this everyone's gaze came to a rest on me.
I desperately glanced at anyone else, but I finally sighed in defeat when no one's gaze shifted.
"Okay, fine." I said. I nervously rubbed my palms together before spinning the bottle.
I didn't look, I didn't want to see the person I had to waste my first kiss on.
"Next person." LJ said. I opened one eye to see that the nose of the bottle was pointing at me once again.
I relaxed, Guess I'll be alright!
Sadie spun the bottle, watching it spin intensely.
It went in one full circle before it landed on LJ. Sadie's eyes widened slightly, but she shook it off and shuffled to the other side of the room with a few winces.
"Ooooo!" BEN snickered childishly.
Jeff rolled his eyes, "What is this? Some high school party?"
"You're such a fun killer." I snorted. He just scoffed.
Sadie didn't even hesitate, she just wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled his head toward her.
I was surprised he didn't poke her other eye out. He managed to twist his head just in time. He wrapped his arms around her torso and I just awkwardly looked away.
Clockwork counted to seven and they separated. Sadie came back to the couch and sat back, not seeming flustered at all.
"C-clockwork y-you're n-next." Toby said, looking a little hopeful.
She nodded and spun the bottle. It whirled around in a circle before it started to slow down in front of her. But she wasn't so lucky, for it landed on Jeff who was beside her.
Jeff didn't look too happy, but didn't say anything as Clockwork pressed her lips against his.
A strange feeling swirled in my gut. It was almost as if I was... jealous? But that's ridiculous! Why would I be jealous?
I shoved it to the back of my mind with a scoff and listened as BEN counted to seven. They parted and relief flooded through my system.
Jeff spun the bottle without hesitation, seeming completely chill. I wished I had felt the same.
My stomach dropped when the bottle slowed down in front of BEN, who sat to my right. My palms sweaty, I watched it intently, silently hoping for it to pass me.
But I didn't have such luck, for it landed right in front of me.
"Uh.." I began, looking away and fiddling with my fingers nervously. Too bad I sucked at kissing.
"Is Jeff gonna prove us wrong?" BEN smirked, waiting for Jeff to make a move.
Jeff scoffed, getting up and trudging over to me. My face burned, and I wished I could just sink into the ground and die.
Jeff waited for me to stand, in which I was hesitant to do so.
I looked up at him, my nerves beginning to work up. He was pretty tall.
What do I do with my hands? Is my neck gonna snap? Why am I alive?
Jeff growled in irritation at BEN, looking unsure despite his aggravated, dont-care facade.
I bit my tongue to prevent gasping as he abruptly picked me up, the blood rushing to my cheeks.
I was about to say that I couldn't do it and back out, but it was too late for that. He quickly pressed his lips against mine before I could react properly.
Shock pulsed through my body and my face burned with blush, while my legs felt paralyzed.
What do I do? When will this be over?
I remembered that Sadie put her hands around LJ's neck, so I did the same, just assuming that was the right thing to do.
I prayed there would be no tongue, only because I knew how that would turn out. But thankfully the time was too short for it to get too heated.
Seven seconds felt like centuries. Jeff dropped me to the couch, and he quickly looked away from me. It might've been my imagination, but I could've sworn I caught a glimpse of pink on his cheeks.
"Guess we were wrong." Sadie chuckled. BEN's sly expression was gone, while the other proxies just continued on with the game without a care.
My heart still raced, and it was awhile before the burning sensation went away.
There goes my first kiss.. I thought. But for some reason, I didn't feel as disappointed as I thought I would.
