But the blood of your mistakes are what we rise to every day
Before we go to school now we pray

I hear stories of when we didn't know this shame
Living in this mistake of what we couldn't change
United by our fear

You know we're told to sing praises every morning
We pledge allegiances to half mast flags
Well here's your warning
Around high school we choose to drop out
And stop pledging our lives to a half mast lie
Eventually we accept the plotting
Of our own demise

So you go on now,
Lower those flags one last time
If you won't fix it please don't pretend to try
Please don't apologize
Please listen before we're all too dead
For any more of us to die

Because ignoring us isn't a solution
It's the justification of schoolhouse homicide
