A little disclaimer:
The characters belong to their own respective owner. The only thing I own is the plot and a few OCs here and there.
Now, on to the story...
As breakfast ends, Percy feels a knot of nervousness in his stomach. He knows that his first class with Amphitrite, where she'll begin teaching him royal etiquette, is about to begin. He exchanges a glance with Triton, who gives him an encouraging nod before excusing himself from the table.
Percy follows Amphitrite to a grand chamber within the palace, adorned with intricate coral designs and shimmering pearls. Amphitrite gestures for Percy to take a seat opposite her at a polished table, where a stack of parchment and a quill await him.
"Welcome, Perseus," Amphitrite begins with a regal air. "Today, we shall embark on your journey to learn the ways of royalty. This will not be an easy task, but I have every confidence that you will rise to the occasion."
Percy nods, trying to quell the butterflies in his stomach. He's never been one for formalities or rigid rules, but he knows he must adapt if he wants to fulfill his role as the heir to the throne.
Amphitrite starts with the basics, teaching Percy about proper posture, speech, and comportment. She demonstrates each lesson with grace and precision, her movements fluid and elegant. Percy tries to mimic her, but he can't help feeling awkward and clumsy compared to her effortless poise.
As the lesson progresses, Percy finds himself growing frustrated with his own shortcomings. He struggles to maintain a straight posture, his words stumble over each other, and he fumbles with the quill in his hand.
Amphitrite notices his frustration and pauses, her expression softening. "Perseus, learning these skills takes time and practice. You cannot expect to master them all at once. Remember, even Triton had to undergo the same training when he was younger."
Percy takes a deep breath, trying to push aside his frustration. He knows that he needs to be patient and persistent if he wants to succeed. With renewed determination, he focuses on Amphitrite's instructions, determined to improve with each passing day.
By the end of the lesson, Percy feels mentally and physically exhausted, but also strangely exhilarated. Despite the challenges ahead, he's grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow. As he bids farewell to Amphitrite and heads back to his chambers, he can't help but feel a glimmer of hope for the future.
Little does Percy know, his journey is only just beginning, and the trials he faces will test him in ways he never imagined. But with courage, perseverance, and the support of his newfound family, Percy is ready to face whatever lies ahead.
