Chapter 5 : How To Feed A New Human

He stared at me for the longest time while I fidgeted under his gaze. “I can’t,” I started very slowly, afraid as to what he would do, “I can’t turn you back into a vampire.”

“Why not?” He looked angry. But he looked like he was trying to hold it in, for the sake of ruining my car. If the vampire was still inside him, he would very easily be able to destroy my car, just like how he destroyed my living room.

“Not yet, I can’t,” I said quickly. “I need you to do something for me first, and then I’ll turn you back, I promise.”

He sighed, running a hand through his black hair. “What?”

“I need you to come to Diamond Labs with me to prove to my boss that I’m not crazy, and that I need my job back to create more of this formula.”

He looked at me like I actually was crazy. “That formula ruined my life! There’s no way I’m going to let you make more of that shit!”

“I told you I’d turn you back! What if there’s vampires out there that don’t want to be vampires anymore?” I shot back at him. “If I had my job back, I could broaden my work! I could change fairies and - and mermaids, too!”

“No deal, kid,” He spat at me angrily. “Fuck. That.”

“Please,” I begged, “I need my job back. I promise you I won’t force the formula on anyone, like I did to you. I was just desperate. Only if they want it, I’ll do it. Please. I promise.”

The pissed off look in his eyes wavered. He sighed in defeat and looked to me. “Five minutes. I will stay there for five minutes. And then we’re leaving, and you’re going to turn me back.”

“Actually, my lab is there, so we have to stay longer than five minutes if you want your formula.”

        “Fine.”

        I grinned. “Yay!”

        “Don’t say yay.”

        “Why not?”

“Makes you look like an idiot.”

        “Oh.”

He chuckled. He had a deep, rich laugh that made you just want to laugh along with him. But then his chuckle was replaced with a very loud, long, growl that came out from his stomach. He looked down at it, confused, and then looked up at me with realization covering his face. “Shit.”

        “What?”

        “I’m starving.”
