Ember's Pov

When I woke up I saw that I was in my room. I grabbed my phone and looked at the message I got.

Hey Ember, when you fell asleep last night I took you and put you in your bed. I plugged your phone in so it would charge. I also wrapped some padding on the top part of your crutches for you. I also left some bandaid tape to rewrap your side for you. Hope you sleep well. -Devan

I smiled knowing that he has done so much for me. I grabbed my crutches and made my way out to the kitchen. It was easier to walk with crutches. I grabbed a cereal bar and sat down on the sofa. I turned on the tv. As I was sitting there I heard a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I asked grabbing my crutches

"It's Devan," he said

"Come in," I yelled sitting back down knowing it was only Devan

The door opened and Devan stepped inside

"Hey, Dev," I said looking over at him

"Hey, Em," He said walking over to me and sitting down.

It's weird that Devan and I have only known each other for a few days but it feels like we have known each other for years on years. I feel like I can tell him anything. Devan makes me happier. we look out for each other. For some reason, Devan has changed me. "Got any plans for tonight?" Devan asked

"Besides sitting around from my ankle, then no," I said

"haha, yeah," He said, "Do you want to call a movie night?" he asked

"Yeah sure," I said

I got up and grabbed the remote.

"Ummm, Ember?" Devan said

"Yeah," I asked

"Are you walking without your crutches?" He asked

I looked down at my foot, "Oh, I guess so" I said

"Okay, then... Do you wanna leave the house instead then?" he asked me

"Sure," I said

I turned my back to Devan to go to my room and grab my shoes but Devan ran up behind me and grabbed my waist and pulled me back.

"Devan!" I screamed

"Hold on there missy!" He yelled

He threw me down on the couch he grabbed my foot and took off the brace

"And how did you heal so fast?" He asked with a smug look

"I have my ways," I said with a wink

He laughed and let me go. I got up and went to my room. I locked the door behind me. I grabbed some pale blue ripped jeans, a baby pink tank top, and some black hightop converse. I looked in the mirror of my outfit

"Hurry up in there!" Devan yelled

"Hold on!" I yelled back

I unlocked my door and opened it. Devan was leaning up against the door. He looked over at me. When our eyes met I blushed a little. He did too.

"Come on," He said

We walked out of my apartment and down the sidewalk

"So what do you want to do?" he asked me

"I don't know," I said

Devan went quiet for a minute.

"I have an idea," He said with a smirk

"Oh no,"

"Oh yes," He said with a bigger smirk

He grabbed my wrist and dragged me to a place. He dragged me into A forest?!

"Umm, Devan... Where are we?" I asked

"you'll see," He said

we scaled a small hill through the forest. When we broke through the bundle of trees there was this really pretty place. There was a big open area and there was a small lake with a river leading away from us. It was really pretty. It was also really hidden in a way. It was amazing. I stood there speechless. I looked around in aw.

"You like it?" Devan asked me

"Yeah!" I yelled

he laughed.

"Come on," He said grabbing my hand. He pulled me down the hill.

We were acting like children. It was fun. I feel like I have known him forever. It was fun hanging out with him. I'm glad I met him. Time flew by fast. Soon it was dark. my eyelids were getting heavy. Soon everything got blurry. I then felt two arms around me. Then the world went dark.
