I knocked on a grand mahogany door. It gave off a hollow sound that echoed throughout the entire hallway. Everything was dead silent. You could hear your own heartbeat. It was disorienting. I could feel a pressure weighing on my shoulders. A low voice broke the silence. That came from the office.

-Well, sir, I tried not to kill him during our last mission, but he got in the way of the target, so he got hit instead.

I then knocked again, only to hear a small but heavy voice answer: "Come in." I opened the door only to see two men in suits, all in black. One of them had two weapons on his person. A bow and what looked like a bastard sword on his waist. He was quite tall. towering over the other man in the room. The one thing that threw me off about him was his shades. The man wore shades inside a building that was already dimly lit. The other man was seated in a large leather chair. He was armed with what seemed to be a Japanese blade. He was not that tall. However, he was the smallest in the room.

The one sitting was surely the boss. That man looked at me and spoke three words.

-Who are you?

His voice, his stare, hell, his entire demeanor sent shivers down to the deepest parts of my being. I pride myself on being courageous and tough as nails. Though in that moment, fear took control of my every movement and thought. Survival was my only option.

-My name is A-Jack Vinson. I am a recruit who was sent in from-

His glare was cold. He was not measuring me. He was thinking of the many ways to get rid of me if needed be.

-My name is Jonathan. You can call me Jo. So you are our recruit."

I blurted with a timid voice: "Yessir, that's me up and ready for work."He looked at me again, but this time he also looked at the other man. Jonathan smiled devilishly while saying. "Well, looks like I found your first assignment, A-Jack, and your new one, Carter."

"AND IF HE DIES, YOUR PAY GOES WITH HIM." Said the boss while slamming the door.

(Insert door slam noises)

The odd guy and I got out of the office. Both of us were surprised. I had to hand it to the boss; he knew how to put us in a world of hate. As awful as it sounded, I had to work with a man who wore shades inside. through that entire ordeal, I could feel his eyes on me. Now, however, his stare moved from curiosity to pure unadulterated hatred. He could have easily taken down an entire army with such a stare. Right after hitting me on the head, he said: "You will know my name only when I deam you worthy . Now, let's hope you won't die as easily as the other filthy cockroaches." He then started to laugh maniacally and headed for what looked like the armory.
