-- -- Space, time not known

Never in a million years would anyone believe her.
    No.  Way.
She tried to calmly recount her week.
Tuesday: went to Hawaii, it turns out the world is fading.
    Her breath quickened.
Wednesday: went back to California to evacuate.
    Thursday: packed.
Today: I'm in a ship.  In space.
Julia's vision threatened to black out.  She glanced around, noticing that the thrust had stopped.  They were gliding.
She unbuckled, and her body floated in zero gravity.  She  drifted over to the window.  Earth looked like a crescent moon, but Julia knew better.  Instead of the black being a shadow, the missing earth was gone forever.
This brought up mixed feelings. Living on Earth hadn't been anything special, but at the same time, it had given her a home.
A woman drifted inside the room.
"We have found another sustainable planet named Golac.  Please get buckled up so we can speed forward," she said, then hurried off.
