AN: See that up there? I drew it digitally with my fingers on this heere phone. I'm proud :,). Sorry for not updating.
Trigger: Gay, gay, gay.
Dear Evan Hansen, todays going to be a good day, and here's why; I might have made a friend? Like an actual friend! One that isn't my mom and doesn't hang out with me just for car insurance. Well we haven't hung out that much yet, just in home economics and standing in front of our lockers. Both times were awkward cause all I'll ever be is an awkward frick up. Let's be honest, would anyone notice if I disappeared? That's what I always ask myself. And maybe I'm finally getting noticed by someone. Maybe I don't have to disappear without making a single friend.
Welp. At least the letter isn't as crappy or hopeless as most of the others. Evan hit print, and prepared for a long wait.
"Hey Hansen."
"AAAH! Oh. Hi Connor! Sorry about that, people usually don't talk to me."
"It's fine. Stop apologizing, Hansen."
"Sorry. I mean- holy spruce. Sorry."
Connor gave Evan a look.
"Sor- um- h-how was school?"
"No one got beat up so I would consider it alright if my family weren't all dicks. You?"
"It was alright. My crippling anxiety was killing me though."
It was at that moment that the letter decided to print.
"This yours Hansen?"
"Oh y-yeah it's for a um- project, yeah........... it's a therapy letter. It's stupid I know...."
"It's not stupid if it's helping, right?"
Evan let out a sigh of relief. "The thing is, I'm not so sure it's helping. It's for anxiety and stuff, but it just seems to get me anxious about the future or a class and works me up. The point is to get everything out but it just gets me thinking about the things I'm bottling inside."
"I'm sure it'll get better sooner or later. Want me to sign your cast? That way we can both pretend to have friends. Cause you probably don't actually want to be friends with me."
"Sure. And Connor?"
"Yeah?"
"I don't mind actually being friends."
Connor took out a black sharpie and signed his name in all caps. "Thanks Ev."
Their smiles lit up the room.
