Flaw in the System

“JAE! JAE! NO! CALL 911!”

    It all happened so fast.

    One moment, she was staring at the loves of her life and the next, she was on the floor with Namjoon pressing his hand against the wound on her upper torso.

    “I-Its hurts…” She whispered through blue lips, she tries to move her fingertips but she couldn’t feel them.

    “I know, baby. I know.” He gulped as he stared at her, tears falling from his face.

    “W-what happened?” She asks, trying to push away the fact that she couldn’t breath as well as she used to. Oh, how she so desperately pushed it away.

    “Nothing, nothing happened. You’ll be fine. You’ll be fine.” He cried, staring at her cheeks that were just bright red with life.

    They matched the tablecloth now.

    “Where’s the fucking ambulance?!” Yoongi screamed, running his hand through his hair as he watched the scene from afar.  People had left the place and ran outside. Jungkook, Hoseok, Taehyung and Jin ran after the guy that had shot her and darted out the door. Even when Hoseok, Tae and Jin had decided to stop, Jungkook ran after him in blind rage. The burning in his mind amd his heart feuled him. Eye for an eye.

    “It’s cold.” She starts to gasp for air and a horrible sob crashes through Namjoon's chest.

    He can feel it.

    She’s fading.

    “Hey, hey- Keep your eyes open.” He whispers and she weakly nods.

    Jae can feel the darkness wash over her, she can feel the pain and the fear of death. But the last thing she does, is lay a hand over her stomach and prays she meets them in the next life.

    Yoongi’s stomach is in twists as he sits in the hospital chair, watching Namjoon talk to the police.

    The enemy has turned into the ally.

    He watches as the police pats his back and gives him a paper bag. Namjoon looks at it confused as he walks back to the rest of them.

    “He said that I should have this. It was in her purse.” He says and holds up the bag. Jimin who cried into Hobi’s chest lifts his face to see it.

    “What is it?” Taehyung says, his eyes open for the first time that they’re there.

    Wooseok looks at Sungjin who held Jeno and panic is written in his face. But before they can stop him, Namjoon pulls it out.

   

    Two pink booties with a tag that says ‘congratulations’.

“Are those- Oh my God.” Jungkook completely breaks down as he realizes what the new was that she wanted to tell them.

“She’s pregnant.” Namjoon whispers, and he sucks in his top lip, harshly biting it as he stared at them, tears flooding his eyes.

One by one, you can hear the clean crack of their hearts. One by one, you can hear the first tear drop.  One by one, they changed.

What Hoseok does next shocks them. He drops to his knees, hands clasped and forehead pressed to it. He rocks, his bum softly hitting his heels and he passionately begs the Lord.

“God,  I know I’m a horrible person. I know i did things in this life that I shouldn’t. And i honestly, don’t know if you’re out there.. But Please… Please, I’m begging you… Save her. Save her and our baby.” He continued to pray to God, begging to him to save his love and the baby.

One by one, they dropped to their knees.

Then altogether, they stop. They stop talking, they stop praying and they stare. They stare at their hands, tears falling down their faces.

“W-what’s going on?” Jeno asked as he stared at all of them in fear.

Sungjin wipes away knew tears as he tries his best not to break down sobbing again, “You can feel when you lose your soulmate. You lose a part of yourself.” He whispered and Wooseok breaks down again.

“Then that means-” Jeno looked up at him to confirm and Sungjin nods once as he begins to cry.

“Noona…”

Short chapter... But there was so much that happened, i wanted you to have some time to process. It's gonna be dreary for a couple of chapters, love. But we'll get through it. 💜
