Crying For Them

Shuichi's POV

There is no way we are watching those videos. Why on Earth would we give each other reason to kill? But... Who got my video? What was on it?

"Hey, Shuichi!"Someone yelled from behind me.

"Oh, Kaito."

"You ready for training tonight?" He asked.

"Only if you'll participate this time." I joked. Kaito put his arm around my shoulders and we both laughed.

"I could be dying for all you know." Kaito... joked?

"Well you look fine to me!" I said.

Kaito sighed. "I guess my sidekick knows me best!"

I laughed awkwardly. The sidekick thing is a little weird, but I'm getting used to it. Besides, a hero complex is nothing compared to the things inside the heads of some of these people. None of them seem really normal... well, Tsumugi is okay, and so is... was Kaede.

Kokichi's POV

How dare they shut me down? Don't they know I'm might be their only chance to beat the mastermind? If I die, Saihara is the only one who might have a chance at it, and he's too busy hiding from the truth to do anything. If he can't condemn a murderer, how can he expose a mastermind?

I guess I'm going to have to take matters into my own hands... whether they like it or not, we are watching those videos. I will remain unshakeable.

And I have an idea.

Shuichi's POV

I can't look at Kaito without remembering his motive video. That's why I had to get out of there. His loving grandparents in every frame. Then their apartment, torn to shreds. What could happen? And... does Kaito love them enough to kill  for them? He can't see the video. He can't know what could've befallen them. He can't cry for them. So, I cried his tears for him. Silent, lonely tears, but tears nonetheless.

Kokichi's POV

Where is he? How can someone like him hide? I combed the campus, looking for him. Maybe... outside? Makes sense now that I think about it. I went around the corner and there was.

"Mr. bug!" He ran after a speck I couldn't see and made frustrated growl when he lost it. "Gonta can't catch bug!" He turned to me.

"That's such a shame! I love bugs! But y'know, there are some people here who don't like bugs."

"No like bugs??" Gonta. "Only bad people don't like bugs. Gonta will make them like bugs." His expression turned a little dark and I was honestly a bit worried. But only a bit.

Shuichi's POV

"Come on, he's coming!" Ryoma rushed into my room to my bewilderment.

"Who's coming?" I asked. A door slammed and Ryoma pulled me out at a run.

I was greeted with quite an unexpected sight. Gonta was checking each room. He was in some sort of a rage- I hardly recognized his normally jovial face. "What is he doing?" But Ryoma wouldn't answer my questions, he just pulled me faster.

"Hey!" Gonta must've spotted us we made to exit the building. We both ran out, closely pursued by the behemoth entomologist. "You no like bugs?" He charged ace I was frozen in shock. All I could do was watch Ryoma make a desperate and successful dive out of Gonta's trajectory as the world came to a screeching halt and was blotted out by darkness.

"Wake up, sleepy head!" I found myself laying on a floor somewhere, hearing a voice that came from.. Kokichi? Yeah, Kokichi. He was leaning over me, looking into my face.  He was very close. REALLY CLOSE. I panicked a little and felt my face grow hot.

"Where am I?"

"Let's just call it... hell."

A few moments later I was relieved to find that I was in fact in the lab of the ultimate entomologist. There seemed to be real, living trees growing out of the ground. The walls were plastered with impressive bug collections. From Giant Amazonian moths to Saharan dung beetles, the walls were covered in lost lives. Must I cry for these creatures, who cannot cry for themselves, or are too ignorant to, or is it a waste of breath to try?
