Jeriah decided to throw me into an office that has a perfect view of the outside of the Parliament building, where Niall and Liam are supposed to be fixating the vaporizer to the top of the old Big Ben tower.

As I look out the window, I let my mind wander.

Before the Coalition, I never thought anything like this could happen to me. I never thought I would experience life and death hand in hand right in front of my eyes, and I never thought I would fall in love with someone I despised so greatly at first.

Simply, I never thought I would fall in love.

My life has been full of broken promises and restrictions and temporary love. Searching for the love I've lacked in materialistic, fleeting experiences. Doing everything in my power to be accepted, rather than accepting myself.

Now, I am smarter. I see everything in a new light. The Coalition showed me what it's like to live with that slim chance of survival. I can't imagine myself any more different than how I am now.

I can't imagine my life without the support and love I receive from those around me, especially Harry. His words, his kisses, his touch, I love it all and I want it for the rest of my days and beyond. I can't wait until he wakes up so I can hold him in my arms. A healthy and new Harry in my grasp.

When Jeriah said I would be staying here a while, I didn't think it would be in luxury. I assumed that I would be put in a less than suitable place for allergies, all dusty and dreary and depressing. This office view makes all that subside.

I stare farther out the window towards the rooftop of Parliament, and see two bodies peek out from nowhere, running full force with a big machine in their hands.

Niall and Liam.

I almost squeal in excitement but I bite my tongue, my eyes falling down to the streets. I see two figures running around blocks to the designated areas where citizens are being held. It looks like Christian and Celestial.

The antidote will be airborne. They're going to try to get as many as they can outside.

God, I pray they stay out of sight from Patrols.

Since Christian and Celestial are out alerting everyone, that means Tara must be staying with Harry. I doubt she would leave his side; she cares too much to leave him alone.

Suddenly the slam of a door cracks through my ears and shouting can be heard from outside of the office I'm in. I walk over to the door and press my ear against the surface to pluck out a few more phrases.

"This isn't about her," I hear a voice growl. It sounds like Jeriah's. "This whole thing was meant for revenge. Why do you think I've kept him here?"

I don't understand what he's talking about but I'm pretty confident that he's talking about me and Malachi. But what conflict would Jeriah have with Malachi? They don't know each other.

"No, she can't find out. If she does, the whole plan is fucked," Jeriah speaks up again. He must be talking on the phone.

"How?! You've got to be kidding me... she's been the issue all along! If she finds out-"

What is he talking about? What plan? What can't I find out?

Steps stride off into a distant patter, suggesting Jeriah's phone call has been taken to another location. That gives me a chance to read into this a little bit.

I can't see Malachi and Jeriah having any relations with one another. Jeriah created the Protector Core, Malachi tried to become a Protector. Malachi became a Deviant, Jeriah stayed all rich and pompous.
