Rosa's POV
You know that moment, usually at night, when your brain won't shut off. It buzzes and rings with activity that you can't erase, worries, thoughts and emotions that it choose to skim over during the day. When you feel like you're dreaming, even when your eyes are wide open and when you hear the traffic going by and when you can feel each breath exiting your chest.
Thats what was happening to me now.
I buzzed with energy and thoutghs and idea's that I would never had before today. And the worst were the questions. I can't shut off my powers, so whenever I ask myself something, it automatically answers. Most people think that would be handy, right? Well they have no idea how wrong they are.
Imagine the things you ask your self:
"What do they think of me?"
One of the most common questions, even if it isn't worded that way. You always want to know if your peers think you're nice, or cool, or just plain weird.
And sometimes you don't like the answers.
'Everyone thinks you're weird"
'They think the reason you hide your face is because you're really ugly.'
'The nice kid from your science class started rumors about you.'
'They call you a "Grimm Reaper Wanna-Be"'
I couldn't take it any more.
So, I decided I needed some fresh air, some time away from myself, from reality. I did the one thing that Xavier cautioned me most about. I went for a run.
I padded down the back stair well and push though the front door, hearing the satisfying click as it closed behind me. I ran out on to the Moore that surrounded the restaurant and pranced around in human form for a bit, the feeling of freedom moving though out my veins.
I felt so good, my thoughts nearly left me, for some happy seconds, I felt alive. I felt almost, normal. But that wasn't enough. I needed more, I needed quiet. Skipping into the forest, the feeling the tall grass from the Moore brushing against my bare feet and legs change into the soft mossy forest floor. Once I was inside, I checked my surroundings and stripped down, leaving my brothers oversized shirt hanging on the low branch of a nearby tree, I shifted.
The popping and cracking of bones moving and bending filled my ears. I had been so long since I had shifted, and pain filled every corner of my mind. But it was worth it. My powers nearly vanished.
Think of my wolf and my powers, and two different people, battling for control. When in wolf form, my wolf takes over, blocking out my powers, when in human form, my powers block out my wolf. So, being in wolf form left my powers at bay, and I was able to ask questions without getting the answers, unless I really tried.
So, of course, I was happy as could be to have a clear mind, and the feeling of my copper fur being ruffled by the wind was something new. I broke into a quick run, letting my wolf take to where ever she wished to go. Even though I couldn't hear her, she was still there.
My wolf brought me to the edge of a cliff, and I couldn't help but be a bit confused. Of all places, I would never think she would bring me to this one. But I soon saw why.
Within a few seconds of arriving, the sun broke through the horizon, painting the sky beautiful shades of red, orange and purple. She had broughts me to see this, and I thanked her for it.
The view was breath taking.
