We all have battle scars; whether they be emotional or physical. We've all been in a war; whether it's across the seas, word wars with those around us, or a war against ourselves. We've all fallen down before, just to be picked back up. We've all flown before, just to crash and burn in the end. We've all forgotten how to fly and we're just trying to get back into the sky.
But sometimes we're afraid to fly, in case we fall back down. We're afraid to try, in case we lose ourselves. We're afraid to leave, to be pulled back in. We're afraid to believe in ourselves again.
So let us keep marching on, while we fight this war. Keep moving on, 'til we're on the ground no more.
We're all scared to fall, we're all scared to burn. We've all made sacrifices, and we all live with our hurt.
But most of all, we all live with our battle scars, and they all tell their own tale. One's about courage, one's about fear. One's about feeling, and one's that aren't so clear. One's that bring joy, one's that bring tears. One's that bring remorse and one's that aren't so severe.
Our battle scars make us who we are and they help us back up. They remind us of where we've been, and what we didn't have then. They remind us what we're fighting for and why we're even in this war. They show us the way, when we've gone astray. They show us the path, and give us a pat on the back. So remember: "You're never alone, because I'll always be there to carry you home."
