Ko's Third Person P.O.V.

When Hajime had stabbed Junko through her neck, Ko couldn't belive it at first. His Hajime? The kind-hearted Hajime he had known for the past three months, killing someone? What had Junko turned his brunet into?

Ko could only guess. Hajime had radiated waves of anger and fear at the albino, causing him to scream for all of it to stop. All the white-haired boy's emotions were spiked, causing it to be ten times worse. The drug had made him sensitive to everything, and now he had no energy to save the boy he loved.

He had never felt so helpless in his life. He had betrayed the one he cared for deeply, and now, that person had gone insane before his eyes.

The servant's body had gotten tired and exhausted from Hajime's torture sessions, so all he could do was watch from the sidelines. With his head bowed, Ko glanced at Hajime through his white bangs with a pleading look in his eyes.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows next to him. Placing the cold tip of the gun barrel at his temple, Izuru unbounded Ko from his restraints. The albino's limp body sagged against the red-eyed male's shoulder, before being picked up by the neck.

Feebly, the white-haired boy attempted to claw at the tightening grip around his throat.

"Drop the weapon or I'll shoot."

The familiar clicking of the gun barrel siunded above his right ear.

"Let him go," Hajime growled, placing the knife on the cemented floor.

Ko wanted to yell, to tell Hajime not to buy into Izuru's threat.

"Remember, you're the one who killed him in your past life, so you're the guilty one. So what if I kill him in front of your eyes again, using your hands? After all, I am you, and you are me," the black-haired male smirked.

A flash of anger shot through the brunet's eyes like an arrow, and before Ko knew it, he was in front of the mastermind, his hand outstretched toward his human form of guilt.

With a snarl, the brown-haired boy shoved a clear piece of glass right through Izuru's chest, and a short, startled gasp slipped from the man's lips.

He fell to the ground, letting go of the albino.

No, no, no, no, no.

How was this happening? Ko's worst nightmare had come true.

He knew the consequences of killing Izuru, and by the look on Hajime's face, the brunet knew so too.

Then why had he done it? Was it for Ko's sake?

Ko's feet wobbled as he watched the red-eyed male's body fall to the floor with a loud thud.

Hajime had a huge, triumphant grin on his face while he swayed slightly on the balls of his feet. Ko barely had time to catch the brown-haired boy before he collapsed onto the ground.

"Hey," Hajime started in a raspy breath. "I'm glad you're safe."

He killed two people including himself and all he could say was 'hey'?

"Why did you do it?" Ko's voice trembled, fear lacing every word he spoke as he cradled the male's body in his arms.

"Do what?" Hajime laughed, but it ended up in a fit of coughing.

"Why'd you kill your past self? You knew the consequences and yet you did it! You should have just run away and left me there to die!" Hot tears burned in Ko's eyes.

Hajime's breaths were getting shallower, and a warm yellow light enveloped his body.

"I had to free everyone," he spoke, his olive eyes now half shut. "I don't want innocent souls to be trapped in a book for all of eternity because of my selfish desires."

"You would sacrifice yourself to save dead people?! That's not worth it!"

"There's also another reason," the teen smiled weakly at the white-haired boy. "It was to protect you."

"Protect me? You hate me! I'm supposed to be saving you, not the other way around!" Anger was consuming the albino's thoughts. "I'm just trash! My life is more worthless-"

"Because I love you."

Wait... what? Hajime loved him? But... he said he hated him before, and had practically spat those words at him.

"I tried to push you away so you wouldn't get hurt anymore because of me. It was all my fault. So please, stop crying." Hajime's transparent hand brushed the tears away from Ko's pale face.

He was crying? Since when? All the emotions he had locked up in his heart leaked through, and Ko heard himself confessing to the brunet for the second time.

"I need you," His voice cracked due to the uncontrollable tears streaming down his cheeks. "I love you. Don't leave me alone." He furiously wiped away the salty drops of water that fell out of his eyes. He needed to be strong, expecially in times like this.

"Smile for me, would you? I don't want to die seeing the person I love crying over me."

Ko forced a smile onto his face, despite the sadness that overwhelmed him.

A prolonging silence fell between the two boys.

"Hey Ko?" Hajime suddenly said with his eyes closed.

"Yes?"

"Can I ask you for one last favor?"

"Anything," the albino smiled, looking down at the dying brunet.

"Can you tell me your name?"

His name...? It's been so long since he had last heard yet said his name. But for Hajime, he would gladly do it.

"Komaeda. My name is Nagito Komaeda."

The brown-haired boy chuckled.

"So that's where Ko comes from, huh? Would you mind if I call you Nagito? It's such a beautiful name."

"Of course you can," Nagito's smile wavered, and he felt his lips turning into a frown.

With one last smile directed at the servant, Hajime Hinata was gone.

All that was left of the boy the albino had once loved was his green tie, which sat idly on his lap.

Clutching the tie close to his chest, Nagito felt the worst feeling in his life.

A feeling of loss and despair, all combined into one.

Hajime had been his life, and literally his only reason for living. Nagito had regained his soul, and he was finally free from the horrible story plot that controlled everything he did.

Now what? What would he do?

Maybe if it was best for him to join his lover.

With. shaky hand, Nagito picked up the gun that Izuru had used from the ground. He leveled it at his temple.

I'll see you soon, Hajime. He thought with a smile.

Just when he was about to press the trigger, iron doors concealed by a wall slammed open.

The gun fell from the albino's hand as he stared at the mysterious figure, shock taking hold of his mind.

It was himself.
