The group was on their way to school, and everyone was squished together in Aiden's car. It wasn't comfortable, but it was better than walking.

"Hey, how about we listen to some music?" Jess suggested.

"Hm? Oh yeah, sure." Aiden said as he turned on the radio and played a specific song.

🎶 "C-c-c-c'mon, c-c-c'mon, go go.." 🎶

"Urgh, is this another song about the psycho mind boyfriend?" Jesse asked, annoyed.

"For your information," Aiden began. "Be More Chill is actually really good. So shut up." Cassie was actually the one who got him into liking the musical, when she dared him to listen to the soundtrack. At first he thought it was kind of strange, a musical about computer mind drugs, but after listening to it a couple of times, Aiden started to see why Cassie liked it so much.

Apparently Jess knew the song, because she started to softly sing along. Softly, but still loud enough for everyone to hear. The girls soon joined her, and eventually the guys did to.

"I don't wanna be a heeerroooo~" Everybody sang in unison. They actually sounded pretty good when they all sang together.

🎶 "Just wanna stay in the line~" 🎶

🎶 "I'll never be your Rob DeNiro.." 🎶

🎶 "For me Joe Pesci is fine~" 🎶

🎶 "And so I follow my own rules, and I use them as my tools.." 🎶

🎶 "To staAAAYyY aLiVe~" 🎶

🎶 "I don't wanna be special, no no, I just wanna survive" 🎶

The group continued singing along for a while. Eventually, they arrived at school. They stepped out of the vehicle and entered the gym, which was completely decorated with hearts and stuff.

"What are we waiting for? Let's dance!" Olivia exclaimed as she grabbed Axels hand and practically dragged him to the dance floor. The plan was to stay together as a group, but within five minutes, everyone split up to dance with their dates.

The songs that were played were surprisingly good, especially for a school dance. Everyone was dancing to the beat, having fun. A few songs later, the guys were just hanging around the food table.

"This dance is surprisingly fun. I imagined I'd just be sitting on the bleachers the entire time." Axel said. Everyone nodded and agreed.

"Same."

"Me too."

"Yeah."

Eventually, a slow song came on, and everyone on the dance floor went to their partner and started shuffling slowly with them. Lukas suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Lukas?" a voice asked.

"Jess, hey."

"Do you.. maybe want to, uh.. dance?" she stammered. She seemed nervous. Weird. Usually it's the other way around.

"Oh, sure!" Lukas answered, and he grabbed Jess' hand. She slowly led him to the dance floor. She then placed her hands Lukas' shoulders, and he placed his on her waist. The lovely couple then swung side to side, staring into each other eyes.

"Have you done this before? Slow dancing, I mean." Jess asked.

"What? Oh, no. I haven't. But it's actually not as hard as I thought." Lukas answered. Jess smiled sweetly, and started to lean in. Was she going to kiss him? Lukas decided to not throw away his shot (like he did before), and leaned in as well. Their lips were almost touching, just a littl-

The song abruptly changed to a pop song of some sort. The girls then practically dragged Jess away from Lukas to dance with her, not realizing that they just ruined his first kiss. Lukas just kinda stood there, trying to process what the heck just happened.

"Well I'll be damned." Aiden said dryly, who was standing with the other guys behind Lukas and thus saw the entire thing happen from a distance. "Screwed up your first kiss. Smart move."

Lukas turned to his friends. "How did you know it was my first kiss?"

"Come on Lukas, we know you." Axel answered, crossing his arms. "You don't have to be a genius to figure that out."

"Was is that obvious?" Lukas asked, somewhat embarrassed.

"Well yes, but it's alright. You'll get your kiss someday." Jesse assured him. Lukas was glad that he was okay with him and Jess being a couple. At first Lukas thought Jesse took it the wrong way, but surprisingly, he didn't. In fact, Jesse claimed that if anyone would be a good boyfriend for his sister, it was definitely his best friend. Lukas, of course, was very thankful for his support.

Lukas glanced over his shoulder to see the girls dancing to a song. Jess suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him into the dance circle they created. The other guys shrugged briefly and soon enough joined them. Everyone was dancing and having fun, enjoying each others company.

As long as they had each other, everything was okay.
