Kind of a sucky chapter ¯\_()_/¯ hope you still enjoy.

Jesse let out an irritated sigh. "Remind me why we're doing this again." Him and Jessica were currently gathered in the living room, sitting on the couch. It was weekend, with meant their friends were coming over. Jesse couldn't say he was excited.

"Jesse, we're doing this because we're good friends." Jessica replied headstrong. "Or at least, I am." she mumbled that last part to herself. "I mean, there's Lukas and you, but I hate Aiden!" Jesse argued, groaning. "And I barely know Cassie or Olivia, and Petra..."

Jesse supposed he was doing it to get closer to Petra. For three years he went to the same school as her, even shared some classes with her. And still she barely ever noticed Jesse. This was his chance to show Petra that he was in fact worthy of being friends with her, and maybe even something more.

A few soft knocks could be heard, and Jessica sprinted to the door, opening it immediately. "Hey Olivia!" Jessica greeted her bestie. "Come in!"

"Thanks!" Olivia remarked as she stepped inside. She looked like something was on her mind. Something important. The girls sat down on the couch, making theirselves comfortable. Olivia gave off this vibe that basically said "I need help right now". And Jessica got the message.

"You seem a little more quiet than usual. Is something wrong?" Jessica asked calmly. Olivia started to play with her hair, meaning that she was nervous about something. Or in this case, someone. "Well.. Let's say there's this person you pass in the hall everyday. And you're used to thinking about him in a certain way, from the persona that he displayed."

"Go on."

"Then, something changes. And he changes." Olivia trailed off.

"It's Axel, isn't it?" Jessica concluded. At the mention of his name, Olivia instantly blushed.

"How did you get Axel from that short-as-heck explanation?" Jesse asked, joining in on the conversation. Jessica ignored her brother. "Olivia, sweetie, if you really like him that much, than you should just ask him out!"

"But what if he rejects me? What if he doesn't like me for who I am?" Olivia panicked. Jessica placed a hand on her friend's shoulder. "If Axel can't see the wonderful person you are, then he's not worth your time."

Another series of knocks were heard, and this time, Jesse got the door. He smiled at his best friend, but that smile faded away when he saw Aiden standing behind him. "Hey guys, come in." Jesse greeted as he stepped aside, allowing his friends to enter. Once they were inside, they sat down on the couch.

"So, how are you guys?" Jesse asked, breaking the silence. Aiden glared at him, obviously not wanting to talk to Jesse. "Worse now that you've asked me."

Lukas glared at him and Jesse chuckled nervously. "Funny. That's really funny Aiden. You're just a... hilarious guy."

"I wasn't kidding." he commented, looking Jesse directly in the eye, making him slightly nervous. This wasn't going well, was it? Jesse decided to shrug it off, only to notice Petra and Cassie standing at the front door, with Jessica gesturing them to come in.

"Hello everyone." Cassie greeted calmly, in comparison to Petra, who just yelled "Yo!" The girls sat down next to Jess and Olivia. "So now that we're all here, who wants to watch a movie?"

After the movie came to an end, the group of friends decided it would be fun to play truth or dare. "Alright! Who wants to go first?" Jessica asked excitingly.

"I'll go." Jesse volunteered. "Lukas, truth or dare?"

"Truth." Lukas answered.

"What's your least favorite subject at school?" Jesse asked his best friend. He decided that he should start off with an easy question. Which worked in both his and Lukas' favor, because Jesse was far from creative when it came to such games.

"Science." Lukas said. "It can go jump off a cliff."

"Understandable."

"Petra, truth or dare?" Lukas asked her.

"Dare, duh."

Lukas smirked mischievously and Jessica laughed softly when she figured out what Lukas was planning. "I dare you to.." he began. "Kiss Jesse on his cheek."

Jesse choked on air and his face turned bright red. "WHAT?!"

Petra only scoffed. "Psh, that's not even a hard one!" She stood up and walked over to Jesse. "Buckle up." she said softly before giving Jesse a peck on the cheek. Jesse's face became as red as it was scientifically possible. Maybe even redder than that.

"You guys suck at giving dares!" Petra said before she sat back down. "Cassie, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Who do you have a crush on?" Petra asked, but Cassie only shook her head. "I'm currently not crushing on anybody." Aiden mumbled something under his breath, inaudible for anyone to hear. "Jess, truth or dare?" Cassie asked.

"Truth!"

"What's the most embarrassing thing you've done since you switched schools?"

"Well.." Jess began. "This week, when Jesse and I were babysitting our cousin, we went to the store to buy groceries and uh.. accidentally left her in the ball pit."

The room soon enough filled with gasps and laughter. "Why would you do something like that?" Olivia asked, laughing.

"It was an accident!" Jessica laughed. "We didn't do it on purpose or anything!"

When everyone settled down, Jess asked her question. "Aiden, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Are you afraid to die?"

"Nope." Aiden answered firmly. "When you die, you're faced with eternal nothingness. It's gonna be great."

Jesse wasn't quite to sure about Aidens theory, but decided it didn't matter anyways. He continued playing the game, enjoying everyones company, even Aiden's.

It's been an.. interesting day.. to say the least.
