A week had gone by since Jess' first day at Emerald High, and she was more than satisfied with how easily she fit in. She, Olivia, Petra and Cassie started hanging out more and more frequently, and the four of them could basically be considered best friends now. Currently gathered in the cafeteria, Jessica was having lunch with her brother who was still freaking out over the fact that Petra waved at him in class. It was then that an idea had popped up in Jessica's head. Her eyes lit up and a mischievous grin spread across her face. "Oh god. What is it?" Jesse asked, regretting it immediately.

"I have an idea."

"You don't say."

"Look, how about we have everyone over this weekend? Well not everyone, but our friends. You know, Olivia, Cassie, Lukas, and Petra. And we can all just hang out, maybe watch a movie." Jessica explained, taking a bite of her sandwich.

"What? No way!"

"Why not? You don't want to miss an opportunity to hang out with Petra, do you?"

"This is blackmail!" Jesse protested.

"I assure you, it's not! Come on Jesse, it'll be fun. What do you have to lose?"

"Oh I don't know, my dignity maybe? My self respect? My image?"

Jessica scoffed. "Jesse, we both know that your "image" is nonexistent, so we might as well do it. Yeah, I think I'm just gonna do it." She grabbed her phone and started typing. "nO!" was all Jesse could blurt out. He stared at his sister, defeated.

"Oh don't be dramatic." Jessica laughed. Jesse reached across his seat for her phone but she kept it out of his reach. "Aaaannd... done!" She quickly let him have it, knowing it was too late for him to do any damage. The text was already sent.

Jess: Heyyy

Jess: We're having a movie night @ our place this weekend

Jess: Y'all wanna come?

Jesse was blushing intensely while reading this. "JESS!" he hissed.

"Good, they already responded!" Jessica said, and she was right.

Olivia: Sure!

Petra: k

Cassie: Of course!

Jessica grinned. Mission accomplished. "Now, go be a dear and inform Lukas about the movie night, okay?"

"Do we have to do the project now?" Aiden said in a bored tone.

"Aiden, don't you want to get an A on this?" Lukas asked as he opened the front door to his house, with Aiden following behind. Aiden decided to ignore the question and instead marveled at how nice and tidy Lukas' house looked in comparison to his apartment. He himself didn't live with his parents like a normal teenager. His mother pass away when he was younger and his father wanted nothing to do with him. He sent Aiden money through the mail so he could pay rent. His dad is actually the one who got him the apartment. But the only reason why he got it for him is because he doesn't want Aiden complaining and asking him to stay with him. I know, dad of the year.

Just then, a woman that looked like she was in her mid-thirties walked up to them with a bright smile. "Hey kids. How was school?" She asked with a bright smile.

"School is school." Lukas said bored. His mother smiled and she then noticed Aiden. "Oh, is this a new friend?" Lukas wasn't quite sure if he and Aiden were on good terms or not, but despite that he nodded his head, just to spare his mom the unnecessary information. "Mom, this is Aiden. Aiden, this is my mom."

She held out her hand for Aiden to shake. "It's nice to meet you, Aiden! You can just call me Brooke." Aiden took his hand out of his pocket and gently shook her hand. "Aiden and I are going to work on a project for school, so could you please not bother us?" Lukas requested.

"Alright sweetie." Brooke said as she ruffled his hair playfully before leaving the room. Lukas frowned in embarrassment while Aiden was trying so hard to hide his obvious laughter. "So, two moms. What's that like?" he asked as Lukas led him to his bedroom down the hall. He could only imagine being stuck in an infinite loop of "go ask your mom".

"Well it's definitely something." Lukas answered. He opened the door to his room and stepped inside. Aiden threw his backpack on the floor and sat down on Lukas' bed. "Nice room." he complimented. That was probably one of the nicest things Aiden had said to Lukas in a while.

"Thanks." Lukas said. "Sooo, should we get started?"

I apologize for the fact that this chapter is not as good as others are. (Not saying my writing is good or anything lol) I wasn't really feeling motivated to write today.
