As everyone had left the house, Keiko noticed a few ANBU showed up around the home. She let the boys run around with their toys while excitedly squealing. The home was actually Kakashi's childhood home with a few renovations to fit Sasuke, Izuna, and Obito. It was nice and open with the front door next to the small kitchen able to oversee the dining and living room. To the left of the dining room there was a hallway that led down to a bathroom and all the boys' rooms and at the end of the hallway was Keiko and Kakashi's room that had its own private bathroom.
She let out a breath that she had just realized she was holding since the attack. The boys would be turning 2 soon and they're already accomplishing so much already, but how those men were affected bothered Keiko. She frowned deeply despite trying to distract herself from the incident. Even if she thought about the boys turning 2 soon, their motor skills are definitely above average. Not that they can run and jump or do anything coordinated, they're just learning quickly. Of course it wasn't a bad thing, but she hoped they weren't going to become prodigy's, it's a lonely childhood like that and even more isolating if one becomes more advanced than the other, and it didn't help that Kakashi and her had missed a lot of their first year alive due to the war and extensive missions.
These worries usually would swirl around her head and spiral out of control until she felt a sharp tug on her joggers, pulling her out of her self doubt and look down at her silver haired son. His bottom lip was quivering a little as he big eyes slowly became watery.
"What's wrong baby boy?" She cooed and kneeled down in front of him, checking him for any injuries.
"M-mama...toof.." His little voice cracked a little as he pointed towards his mouth.
"Awe are more teeth coming in?" Keiko smiled warmly at Obito and took a look at his gums, seeing his bottom teeth had come in nicely but his top teeth were still in the process. "Let's get you and ice cube and it'll help a little bit okay?" She kissed the top of his head and noticed his raven haired twin peaking past the counter. "Would you like an ice cube too Izuna?" She asked with a chuckle as he nodded his head vigorously.
After giving them each an ice cube to chew on, Keiko made sure to keep an eye on them and would let her team and Kakashi handle this for now. Her boys needed her right now, whether they were targets or not. She felt the corners of her lips tug downward as she got lost in thought again, suddenly a light knocking shook her out of thought and she made sure the boys were still in eyesight as she opened the door.
"The Hokage has sent for you and your children at the tower, we will escort you." The masked ANBU member with dark brown hair in a ponytail moved to come inside when she stepped in front of him, in a protective mother mode.
"That isn't necessary, but if you must you can wait outside." She gave a weary look at the two members that just nodded and backed out of the way. A deep weight settled on her shoulders, but she appreciated their patience as she picked up her two boys and set them in a stroller since they were becoming increasingly fussy.
As she entered the tower she saw her three students, Kakashi, and Yamato all waiting. The ANBU that 'escorted' her disappeared when Sai had let her into the office.
"Let's get down to business." Kakashi picked up a sniffling Izuna who had just finished a tantrum, trying to sooth him and ease the stress put on his wife who looked worn out. She just nodded in response and picked up Obito and sat in a chair next to Kakashi's as he showed her documents. She noticed all the teenagers in deep thought, well not so much Naruto but he did seem to be worried. "We were unable to wake up the men, Sasuke had tried to search their minds as well but had experienced the same as you. Sakura had worked on healing them and bringing their vitals back to normal, but it's like they're still in a genjutsu induced coma."
Keiko's eyes scanned the document quickly and frowned at the paper. "So why did you bring us into town? Did something else happen?" She looked around and could tell that something did happen without even asking.
"There was another attack." Kakashi frowned under his mask but continued, "however, the men were saying 'Uchiha' as they walked up to the front gate." He rested a hand on the top of his wife's right thigh.
"We need to figure out why they're searching for Uchihas, and it would be best if we were the ones to figure it out so we don't bring any more danger to the village." Sasuke stepped in, Naruto frowned deeply at that but kept his mouth shut. Keiko sighed but nodded her head.
"You're right, Sakura you have too many responsibilities at the hospital right now to just leave and Naruto you'll be able to protect the village just fine if something were to happen." Keiko's eyes landed on her husband who had a tighter grip on her thigh, he didn't want to let her go but he knew it was a better idea than just keeping them in the village and likely not finding anything out whilst putting more lives at risk.
"I'll keep the boys safe and I'll keep you two updated on any information we find out. Shikamaru is working to see if we have any data on an ability like this." She gave him a small nod and a tired smile as she stood up.
"Everyone can go ahead, I'll meet you at the gate in an hour Sasuke." She nodded at her younger brother who just gave a curt nod back and left the room along with Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and Yamato.
"Will you be okay?" Kakashi asked almost as soon as the door closed behind Yamato. They both set the boys down so they could play in the little play area already set up by Sakura.
"I should be asking you that." Keiko just chuckled and gave her husband a loving kiss on the forehead. "I have Sasuke and you know we both can hold our own just fine." She paused for a moment and felt her heart flutter a little, "but I do need to tell you-"
"Lord Sixth?" Shikamaru's voice was heard on the other side of the door.
"Just a moment Shikamaru." Kakashi called out and looked back at Keiko who just looked distant and deep in thought, "what's wrong Keiko?" His calm voice brought her attention back to him.
"Nevermind, you have other things to worry about." She plastered a fake smile on her face making him frown.
"You are important to me Keiko, Hokage or not. Are you okay?" He stood up and pulled her into his arms, her body instantly melting into his warmth.
"I'm okay Kakashi, really. I'll send Onikisu when I find something, it'll be quicker." She pulled his mask down and sweetly kissed him. "I love you." She mumbled against his lips, he grinned down at her and softly kissed her temple before pulling his mask back up.
"I love you too, be safe." He let her go and she quickly gave the twins a kiss on the cheek each before leaving the room with a wink. However as she walked away towards the house to grab some supplies, she subconsciously held her flat stomach...
