Keiko woke up early that morning despite not going to bed until late.  She pulled on her forest green jonin flak jacket, still loose enough to hide her baby bump and black ninja pants.  Her long black hair was pulled back into a high ponytail.  She looked into her bathroom mirror and let out a small huff.  Later that day she would come face to face with the brother of the man who had caused her so much pain and hardship.  A small frown etched across her features as she thought about it some more and failed to notice Kakashi watching her from the doorway.

"Are you sure you want to come?"  He murmured softly as he laid a gentle kiss on her temple.  She let a small smile grace her features,

"Yeah, I'll be fine.  I need to be able to move on."  She looked up at him and brushed his lips with hers softly.  "I'm sure this will help me at least take a step towards moving on." She leaned into his chest and let his warm strong arms embrace her.

"Let Itachi and Sasuke lead the interrogation.  You're just there to observe and provoke him.  I know you'll be fine.  We will all be there and he's under the tightest security."  He kissed the top of her head one more time before letting go and getting ready for the day.

Itachi was also up early that morning and watched his nephews sleep peacefully with their puppies.  A thin frown traced his lips as he thought about the man they were to interrogate later that day.  Obviously, both he and his brother had predatory behaviors, but was it really because of the decision of their elders that drove them to their actions?  What was the deeper meaning behind it all?

"Uncle 'Tachi?"  A sleepy Izuna rubbed his eyes with one hand and gently pet his sleeping grey-furred puppy with the other.

After suddenly having his thoughts pulled away from him, his eyes gazed down at his raven-haired nephew.  He really did look like Sasuke did as a child.  His onyx eyes softened and a gentle smile tugged on the corners of his mouth, "Izuna, did you sleep well?"  He knew the answer to that already from the irritated glare the twin gave his snoring brother but bit his lip to keep from showing any amusement.

"No.  The dobe snores too loud."  He pouted slightly.

"Your room is ready to have your stuff moved into, do you want to sleep in there?"  Itachi raised an eyebrow when Izuna furrowed his eyebrows and subconsciously pulled the puppy into his lap to comfort himself.

"I don't like the nightmares."  He mumbled to himself softly.  Itachi mimicked his face as he saw the haunted look in the toddler's eyes.  He stood and picked up Izuna and the puppy.

"Let's go out to the garden.  It always helped me feel better when I had nightmares."  He looked down at Izuna who clutched his loose black shirt and frowned slightly.  Such a little boy shouldn't be so well-spoken.

"Uncle 'Tachi?"  Izuna looked up at his uncle with big onyx eyes.

"Yes?"  He stopped at the koi pond and set the toddler down with his puppy, who sleepily yawned and snuggled into his owner's lap more.  The calming sound of the moving water soothed both of them while Izuna thought about what he wanted to say.

"Do you have nightmares a lot?"  He decided to ask.  Itachi tilted his head and looked down at him,

"Sometimes.  Do you want to talk about your nightmares?"  He noticed the little boy fidgeting and gave a small nod.

"Sometimes I'll see mommy get really hurt, but not always mommy.   Sometimes I see Uncle Sasuke or even Daddy.  It's always in the same place, with this really big monster and a man with long black hair."  He absent-mindedly pets his puppy's fur while watching the water trickle down the mossy stone.
