You spent the next few days teasing Jungkook as the two of you were in and out of the house. Mostly you saw each other in passing since you both had work to do, but that little time was enough to get to know one another. 

You were constantly evaluating the things he said and trying carefully to get more information out of him. And today, you had decided that you were going to try a new tactic. You were going to give him a small piece of information about yourself so he might be compelled to do the same.

You flipped the pancake on the pan as Jungkook entered the room, yawning  and stretching. He was wearing a black T-shirt and basketball shorts, his usual pajamas. He was always glad to sleep in on Saturday mornings since he didn't have training. 

"Good morning, sunshine." You said jokingly, coaxing a smile out of his tired face. He sat down at the bar-counter and you served him the food you were cooking. 

"How long have you been awake?" He asked. You glanced at the clock and then back to him.

"Three hours or so. I had a client who wanted to work out this morning." He nodded slowly, accepting the lie. Actually, you had woken up and gone on a run around the city to survey things. Nothing important, just a routine look around. 

Jungkook was cute when he was tired, you couldn't deny that. He moved slowly and had a sweet, nonchalant smile on his face. As he ate his breakfast, he woke up a bit more. 

"So do you have family living near here?" He asked you, making for an easy beginning to your inquisition. 

"Only my grandmother, she's in a nursing home and I pay for it. She's my only family." This was true, she was your only family left and you worked hard to make sure she was taken care of.

"That's admirable." He said, looking up at you. "I don't have many family members here either. Just one." The look in his eyes darkened noticeably at the thought. From that look alone, you knew it was the information you were looking for. It obviously pained him to think about, and there was a part of you that didn't want to ask. But you had a job to do, so you did.

"Oh?" You prodded. He looked up at you and you could see the very moment he decided to trust you. 

"My brother. He...he got involved in a gang. Years ago."

You didn't push it any further, you had the information you needed. It seems the two of you had more in common than you originally thought. Both of you had come from crime-ridden families, but you had taken very separate paths as a result. 

But if he was being targeted because of his brother, that meant he could be innocent. You might not have to take him out, and that was beginning to sound very appealing.

That night, you went on a walk and group called RM and V. 

"Hello?" They both answered.

"Hey guys, I found out some stuff today about Jungkook. His brother was gang affiliated, can we search him up?" You heard someone move around and then typing on a computer.

"I'm searching it right now," V said. After a few moments, you heard a quiet sound of confusion. "Your roommates name is Jeon Jungkook, right?"

"Yeah, why?" 

"Spelled J-E-O-N  J-U-N-G-K-O-O-K?" 

"Yeah that's correct." RM hummed in agreement to you.

"King...Jeon Jungkook doesn't have a brother."

All three of you went silent. Either this man was just as good a cover-up as you, or Jungkook lied. Between the three of you, you knew just about everybody in the crime circles of Seoul. 

"I might be able to search up some different documents." RM said quietly. "It'll take a few days, but it might bring us some good information."

"I can wait."
