a dangerous man

A few days later, you were arriving back at the apartment after helping V with a job. You were tired and minorly injured, but $5,000 better-off so what the hell. 

It was evening and the purple sky calmed your heart as you walked home. 

You unlocked the door to see Jungkook sprawled over the couch. He was still in his police uniform, though it was unbuttoned a bit and crumpled up. His head lifted up immediately, obviously happy to see you. 

"(Y/N)!" He shouted, rolling off the couch and coming over to you. "I've been so bored since I got home. Let's do something." 

You laughed at his eagerness. He grabbed you arm to pull you to the couch, but he immediately let go when you gasped in pain. 

That spot of your arm, though it was covered by your jacket, was darkly bruised from work today. You had gotten in a scuffle with V's target and had taken a few hits before he was taken out. 

"What's wrong, are you okay??" He asked nervously, worried he had hurt you. 

"No it's alright," You said, walking over to the couch with him. "I just got bruised while helping a client today." 

He was very gentle with you, making sure you were totally comfortable. He wrapped you in a blanket and sat next to you happily. 

"How was your training today?" You asked him. 

"It was great! We're learning about famous criminals currently like RM and V. There's one that I'm really fascinated by, their name is King."

Your eyes widened but you tried not to show any more emotion than was necessary. "Oh? Tell me more." 

He excitedly gave you a detailed description of your own crimes as you listened. You had to admit it was kinda funny, it made sense that you were the one he was drawn to. However, it didn't feel good to know that your supposed target knew more about you then you did about him.

"How about we watch a movie?" You suggested. He enthusiastically agreed and put on some netflix. 

You didn't pay much attention to the plot of the movie he had picked. Instead you just thought about your whole situation, and Jungkook himself. The better you two got to know one another, the harder your job was going to be.

About halfway through the movie, you looked a him. He was so funny, so sweet. But dangerous men can be these things too.

After a few moments, he glanced over and you realised that you had been staring. For a second, he holds your gaze. You don't even move when he shifts forward and kisses you.

Because you can't.

A panic rises inside you as you realise you're attracted to him. And apparently, he's attracted to you too. You couldn't fall for him, you knew that. But it might already be too late.

When he pulled away you stared at him, wide eyed and terrified. Suddenly you came to your senses and stood up, running to your room. You heard Jungkook protest and apologise but it didn't stop you. You closed the door and pulled out your phone, dialling RM's number as fast as your fingers would allow. 

"Hello?"

"I need that information right now, it's an emergency." You spoke quietly despite your loudly beating heart.

"Lucky for you, I just had a breakthrough. I went through some government files, and this Jungkook of yours changed his name. The reason on the form states that he doesn't want to be associated with his brother's gang."

"So...he's innocent?"

"Yeah as far as I can tell, he's only being targeted to hurt his brother."

"Thanks, I have to go."

You clicked off the phone and took a deep breath. He was innocent. You weren't going to kill him, but you'd have to figure out how to deal with the Brass Violet's gang.

As you were thinking, the door creaked open to reveal a very embarrassed Jungkook.

"Look (Y/N), I'm really sorry. I just thought that-" You walked up to him and stopped his words with a gentle kiss. This time you were able to really enjoy it, relishing in his soft lips. When you pulled away, you calmed his fears.

"No, I'm sorry for freaking out. I just didn't expect it." His cheeks were still red but he was smiling bashfully. He was innocent and now your heart was free to fall for him.
