face your fears

Suga had just woken up. Jungkook had ushered everyone out of the room except the two of them, ignoring your quiet protests. He was going to talk to his brother, and he was going to do it alone.

Both groups of people remained silent in your bedroom, trying to listen in on the muted conversation. Though everyone was almost holding their breath to hear, Jungkook was carefully speaking in a hushed tone. One by one, each of you backed away from the door in defeat. Still, you remained quiet as you waited for them to emerge. 

Half an hour later, the door creaked open and the two of them entered with serious faces. You could see bruises forming on the both of them from their fight earlier, but they didn't seem defensive around each other now. 

After a deep breath, Suga began to speak. "I know their weakness. At midnight, the five bosses meet at this one spot in the woods. They party and drink, but they do have weapons. If you trust me... I can take you there." 

You nodded, as Jungkook gestured for you to come forward. "Tell them your plan." His voice sounded cold and unsure, as though he was still fighting battles in his mind.

"Yoongi will take me to the forest. Since they want me and Jungkook, he'll offer me up and tell them that he has RM and V tied up at the abandoned building instead. It's an offer they can't refuse." Everyone nodded in agreement. 

"Then Suga will take them to the building, where all of you will be waiting to attack. I'll take down the leader, all of you will focus on the other four. Take away the middle piece, and the whole tower falls down."  The plan seemed perfect. There would be casualties, but you prayed they would happen on the other side. 

Once everyone had agreed to your plan, they set about getting ready. There was less than an hour till midnight and everyone's anxiety was rising. You had no other weapons other than a small knife in your belt, while everyone was heavily armed. If the bosses saw you with weapons, they would kill you on sight. You couldn't say you weren't nervous. There was nothing stopping them from shooting you on the spot anyways. But however nervous you were, Jungkook looked even more so.

Tentatively, you met his gaze. His eyes glimmered and you could tell that he was afraid. Knowing that there was something on his mind, you stepped into the living room again and he followed.

Before you could say a word, he fell into your arms and held you tight. Though you were startled, you didn't hesitate to hug him back. His warm breath against your neck slowed your pounding heart. 

Everything that he couldn't say aloud, he communicated through that embrace.

I know your past. But I also know you now, and I know that you want a different life. I know you want peace, and I want to experience that with you.

And then you spoke, whispering in his ear.
"After everything, I deserve whatever happens. Good or bad." 

After placing a small kiss on his cheek, you went to help RM fix his holster in the other room.

When the clock struck twelve, you all shared trusting glance. Then it was time to go.
