After turning in the gang members, everyone went back to your apartment to recover. Surprisingly, the mood was light. Several people were bruised and Suga was stitching up your side, and yet everyone was smiling. It would seem that life or death situations really have a way of bringing people together.
You were reclining on the edge of the couch, with Jungkook one one side of you and Suga crouching on the other. Every few moments, your smile was interrupted with a flinch at the poke of the needle. Jungkook's arm was draped around your shoulders, helping you to ignore the pain. Not a word was said between the two of you, nothing needed to be spoken aloud.
Jimin was loudly telling V stories of his adventures in the police force while the other cops joined in to add details. He seemed genuinely interested in hearing them. You thought that he might make a good policeman, and it was obvious that he was beginning to think so too. And though he wanted to continue his daring life, you had something else in mind.
You thought you might try and get a job at a cafe.
It might be nice to not fear for your life every day. And as for your grandmother who you'd been sending money too, there had been a large ransom for each of the men you turned in and with your share, you could pay for her for a long while.
As everyone continued to speak loudly, you looked up at Jungkook. He was smiling at the dramatic stories his comrades were telling, laughing quietly ever so often. And when he looked down at you, the smile still bright on his face, you figured everything was going to be okay.
