Helping A Tortured Soul

They quickly took the girl to the hospital thanks to the only resident and guardian of Angel Island, Knuckles the Echidna. Scourge explained to the three Zone Cops and Echidna what has been going on especially how Fiona went beserk and tried to kill her. Right now, they were just waiting to see if she will be alright.

Scourge: I just don't understand why she would hurt an innocent girl like her. She did nothing wrong.

Knuckles: Did that girl even tell you her name so we can't call her 'girl' or 'she' or 'her'?

Before neither of them could answer, the doors to the emergency room opened as they saw that the girl was knocked out as she was brought into a room.

Doctor: Are you here with Katherine the Hedgehog?

They all look at the doctor in confusion.

Doctor: Oh. Well, before we even begun the surgery, she was able to tell us her name.

Fleetway: So her name is Katherine the Hedgehog.

Scourge: Can we see her?

The doctor just nodded and them all to room 55B. He told them to be quiet since she is still resting. He opened the door and the sight broke their hearts. The girl, Katherine or Kath for short, was all battered and bruised up and they took noticed that her right shoulder was swollen from a kick from Fiona.

Fleetway couldn't bare to see the only soul that they helped was now in a hospital that he had to clenched his fists in anger. The doctor felt sorry for them especially the girl. The way she looked at him before she fainted made him see emotional and mental pain and a tortured soul that needs help. Mephiles cursed under his breathe that he wasn't fast enough and his powers haven't returned after being sealed for a month in the Scepter of Darkness while Scourge was blaming himself that he wasn't able to protect her since she was like a little sister to him. The Zone Cop trio were able to get back to the No Zone to probably arrest Fiona the Fox. Infinite growled in anger and frustration since he had failed her like a father. He vowed to protect and help her and yet he failed. Knuckles felt sorry for the girl. How could Fiona hurt such an innocent soul like hers?!

Doctor: Her vitals are steady as well her immune system after we ran some tests on her. Her blood pressure is a little off balance but seems fine to me since she has been eating properly. She should heal up about two weeks if you want to take her home now but it may take a few more days before she can speak.

This confused them while Infinite slowly picked the girl up in his arms as the slight movement made her stir awake before she look up at Infinite and let out a croaked mew. The sound broke their hearts seeing that she was trying to talk.

Doctor: I'm gonna have to advice you to give her something sweet to drink that isn't too hot or cold only in the right temperature. Some oranges, mangoes, strawberries and grapes might help her speech recover quickly.

They nodded as Infinite adjusted his hold on Kath carefully as he saw that she snuggle up against him letting out content purrs from her. The doctor told them that they can take her with them if they want but they decided against and decided to stay in the hospital where they got free access to stay until Kath was all better. Mephiles then decided to watch television just in time to see the news about Fiona getting arrested.

Reporter: We are live here in the No Zone where the Zone Cops successfully captured the criminal Fiona Fox and the old gang of Team Destructix.

The cameraman followed the reporter and was now talking with Zonic.

Reporter: Zonic, care to explain what's going on?

Zonic: Well, let's just say that Fiona the Fox just injured a innocent citizen badly and is at the hospital in Mobius Prime as of now. She is room 55B if you are wondering and are currently with the four previous enemies of Prime Sonic.We will put Fiona in the most secured cell in the station where she won't escape. That's all.

Reporter: Well, folks, that's all for now.

Mephiles changed the channel but they were all glad that Fiona won't go hurting Kath anymore. Now all they have to is helped the tortured soul. Infinite sensed being stared at before he look down and saw that Kath was looking at him. He noticed that she seems to be healed up but not completely.

Infinite: Hey, Kath, how are you?

Kath didn't say anything but just smiled up at him as if telling him that she was alright before looking at the TV before pouting seeing that the show was boring which the five noticed and looked at her.

Knuckles: What? You don't like it?

Kath just nodded her head before Mephiles flipped through channels before stopping at a channel showing an action movie version of Spider-Man but the alien from the Spider-Man Trilogy was the main character and the way she was watching this made them take a mental note that she likes action movies that involves supernatural or out of the world.

By the time the movie ended, Kath fell asleep while resting her head on Infinite's side. Infinite jut stroked her head making her ear twitched from time to time. Scourge and Fleetway were sleeping on the couch while Mephiles chose to sleep on the floor and Knuckles left to go back to Angel Island to guard the Master Emerald but promised to visit Kath. Infinite then look out the window as the pale blue moon light shine through the window and casting a mystic light on the girl, who was resting against him giving her fur a pure golden brown shine. Infinite just nuzzled the top of her head before kissing it as sleep over came them while the girl let out soft purrs.
