Cold...cold...cold....

Why was it so cold? The feeling was seeping into my skin, my bones. If I didn't find anything warm soon, I would die.

"Very good, Viktor. You are doing great."

My breath hitched at the sudden sound coming out of the speaker in the room. A noise that I haven't heard in over two hours since I was pushed inside this freezer-like room.

"P-papa...I-I'm c-c-cold..." I muttered, a white fog escaping my lips and swirling in front of my face, like a distressed ghost escaping my body.

"I know. But I can promise you that this will make you a much better person."

"A-am I-I-I..m-making y-you p-proud?"

Silence. No answer was heard from the speaker above the room and I clutched my thin arms tightly, my hands numb and blue.

"P-papa?"

"Viktor?"

I glanced up and saw a pair of eyes staring at me. Black hair covered the majority of them, but their glistening stare still jabbed at me.

"Sorry..." I whispered softly, looking at the covered boy. "I just remembered a memory I thought I had erased."

"Oh..." Cat fiddled with his fingers and looked at wooden table.

After our meeting, I decided to invite Cat to lunch, a thing I have never done before. He refused but insisted I take him to a park. And here we were, awkwardly sitting on a park table surrounded with trees and laughing children.

"So...Cat. That is an interesting name, huh?"

Cat stiffened slightly, his eyes looking away from my face and at the playground across the way.

"My mother gave it to me. She loved cats and sometimes called me her little kitty cat. You know...until she died."

I tapped my finger against the table, feeling the tension increase between us. The air was so thick I could cut it with a knife.

"My mother, too. Not the kitty cat thing, the dying part. Wait...that didn't sound right."

A giggle erupted in my ears and my eyes widened slightly at the soft smile covering Cat's mouth. A small hand covered it suddenly and I soon felt my own hand quickly grab his own.

"Viktor?"

My eyes widened at my own action, and I quickly pulled back my hand.

"Sorry...I don't know what happened..."

He stared at me before a smile curved at his lips.

"It's fine."

I gave a wide smile, feeling reassured with myself, until Kenny suddenly invaded my thoughts.

His smile, his laugh, his kind-hearted nature, they all filled my head and I soon felt guilt start to kick in.

"No...this is not fine..."

I quickly stood up, my mind unable to forget those blue and green eyes. How could I be so stupid. There was no way I loved Kenny for his blood. In fact, his blood and flesh was the least of my desires.

My desires were to hug him. To kiss him. To hold him tight and feel safe knowing he'll be there forever.

Kenny.

"I'm sorry. I have to go."

Cat stared at me silently and I took that as an okay to go. Even if it wasn't, I didn't care. Right now, I needed to have a long talk with him.
